Proving Grounds Wrestling Presents:
Blood In The Water
Live from the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada
September 14th 2017
Segment:
The big screen comes alive to show a recap of the opening to FAW's Purgatory Super show. With Sage Morgan standing in the middle of the ring, she is flanked on one side by Markos Jimenez and on the other stands Maddux Kingcade, GM for Proving Grounds.
Sage Morgan: Tonight marks a change, not just for the people backstage but for all of you as well. A few weeks ago, you were addressed and informed that FAW and PGW would be combining as to one company, that is where the facts of what you were told, end.
I have personally purchased both companies and all assets have been liquidated, whilst I have retained several roster members to contract, FAW and PGW as you know them, are at an end. Instead I shall be rebranding and refocusing the entire companies to a new horizon.
Sage smiles and looks out at the crowd.
Sage Morgan: Pay close attention in the coming weeks and you will discover exactly what is in store for you all… Some faces will remain, some will go and some new faces will be joining us as well - starting with the newly appointed team of staff you have witnessed come into your screens these past few weeks.
All of these employees have been contracted under me, under this new regime and I intend to offer you all the highest quality product money can buy.
Sage turns on the spot and smiles again.
Sage Morgan: I promise each and every one of you, this is not only what is best for the company, but it is what is best for you, the fans, as well!
The big screen then cuts off.

:: Larissa Jackson walks into the scene. She's in her wrestling gear. She has a pissed off look on her face. She scoffs a bit now as she shrugs her shoulders.::
Larissa Jackson: Last show I got cheated out of a victory. I should have a title shot at Merlot. But no. I got cheated out of it. Then I get put in a match that doesn't really matter? Here at Blood in the Water i should be in something bigger. But no. I face Viv?
:; She shakes her head again.::
Larissa Jackson: I should be pushed to the moon. I've only lost two matches in this company. But yet I've only had ONE title match. Stupid.
:: She closes her eyes as she clinches her fists.::
Larissa Jackson: I'm done with being pushed down. Viv will see this when beat her. But most of all Gabe will see it.
:: She laughed a bit and then smirked. ::
Larissa Jackson: I heard his words, and yeah I might have complained but you know what I deserve to do it. If I ever get him in that ring I will beat him as well. So screw all of you, I'll do my thing and prove to every fucking one of you that I should be a champion not a pion.
:: She shakes her head as the scene fades.::
PGW Tag Team Championship Match:
The K & K Wrecking Crew (Kai "Sky" Walker & Kassi T Moore) vs Kaleb Price and Scout Donnelly ©
The match started with Kai and Scout in the ring, the pair showed some beautiful ring work with Kai really keeping Scout off her feet to avoid those lethal kicks. After a couple of take downs followed by a swinging neckbreaker, scout was crawling over to make the tag and she just managed it.
Kaleb came in fresh and took Kai down to the mat, keeping him off the ropes to take control back of the match, a grape vine around the body of Kai left him rolling and reaching, he made a grab for the ropes but missed, his roll was close enough though that Kassi managed to tap his shoulder and make the save.
Kaleb released the hold and Kai rolled out of the ring, Kassi came in on fire and with a roaring elbow Kaleb was down on the mat, Kassi then ran the ropes and with a diving elbow drove herself into the chest of Kaleb, hooking the leg for the three count with Kai preventing Scout from stopping the pin.
Winners: The K & K Wrecking Crew (Kai "Sky" Walker & Kassi T Moore) (NEW PGW Tag Team Champions)

::The pre-recorded video feed cuts in as we see Merlot Ayano seated at a fairly large conference style table within the Mandalay Bay Events Center. She’s typically seen in her training gear, but today is an exception. She is adorned in a small black dress, black stockings, black Halogen pointed flats, a thin gray jacket (to keep off the arena’s chills), and a gray beret. Proving Grounds has been known to hold a fan meeting and greet, along with an autograph signing before each pay-per-view—Blood in the Water is no exception.
There is a fairly large line of fans lined up to meet and get their merch signed by the Proving Grounds Valor Champion. It is moving a bit slower than the lines of her peers, as Merlot takes the time to chat and be personable with each fan that steps up to her before she takes a photo or signs an item.::
Merlot Ayano: Thank you for all support, Cari-chan. Means a lot. Hope Cari enjoy show tomorrow.
::Merlot carefully hands the woman a signed photo. The woman smiles and gives her a small bow.::
Cari Jones: No no, thank you very much. This photo means a lot. And thank you for being an amazing wrestler and Valor Champion. It’s amazing seeing you do your thing in Proving Grounds.
::The two exchange head nods as the woman takes her leave. Next, a Japanese father and his small child walk up. Merlot greets them both smiles.::
Merlot Ayano: Konichiwa! How doing?
::The man laughs a little bit.::
Man: Good afternoon, Ms. Ayano; I’m doing well. My name is Ryo Kanemoto. I’ve been a big fan of yours for quite some time now. I even attended your debut match back in CHAOS Frontier. That match against Moe Haruna is one my all time favorites.
::His kinds words visibly warm Merlot’s heart.::
Merlot Ayano: Thanks so much! Is big joy to meet long time fan. Means you have followed Merlot through mire as well. So, Merlot appreciate it.
Ryo Kanemoto: Of course.
::Her eyes migrated to the young girl. She’d moved a bit behind her father, clinging to his leg a bit as if she were a bit nervous.:
Merlot Ayano: And who is precious one there?
Ryo Kanemoto: This is my daughter, Satomi.
::He reaches down and ushers her to the forefront.::
Ryo Kanemoto: Please forgive her; she’s a bit starstruck, I suppose. She’s just as big of a fan of yours as I am. I got a her a massive compilation of your matches last year for Christmas. She pops those DVDs in at least once a week or so. So when I found out that you’d be signing autographs, I knew I’d have to bring her by.
Merlot Ayano: Ohhh, super fan!
::The man takes ahold of the child and picks her up so that she can speak to Merlot face to face.::
Merlot Ayano: Hi hi. Please no be nervous, okay? You Merlot’s fan. Means will always be apart of Merlot’s heart. So no need to fear, hai?
Satomi Kanemoto: ...Hai.
::The young girl’s face softens a bit.::
Satomi Kanemoto: Ms. Ayano—
Merlot Ayano: No no. Special fans like Satomi say Merlot. Is okay.
::The girl nods.::
Satomi Kanemoto: Merlot, I want to say thank you for being awesome. I didn’t really like wrestling much until I saw you. Now it is something I want to do when I get older and stronger. So, thank you for being a good inspiration.
Merlot Ayano: Aww! Thank you! If is really what to do, hold on to dream and chase. Will be tough, but Merlot in you; and sure father believe in Satomi too, hai? As long as dream is firmly in mind and heart, can achieve. Just gotta’ keeping working hard, hai.
::Satomi earnestly nods her head. Her eyes glances at promotional poster behind Merlot. Said poster as Auburn Cox with her hand raised. Satomi’s eyes glance back at Merlot.::
Satomi Kanemoto: Merlot, do you think your match against Auburn Cox is going to be really tough?
::It was an honest question. And coming from such a young fan, it slightly caught Merlot off guard. After a bit of time to think, Merlot responds.::
Merlot Ayano: Will match be really tough? Merlot say hai. Ever since Merlot signed to Proving Grounds, have been facing the best company has to offer. Gone up against a variety of opponents that all possess different styles. And each one has been difficult in own right. Proving Grounds is chalk full of talent. Is the thing that makes Proving Grounds special, hai. Each and every match Merlot face someone who is capable of knocking her on behind. Auburn is not exception…
::She nods.::
Merlot Ayano: Is no secret that Auburn has skill. Skill was in full effect when defeated Larissa, Court, and Rayner. But, can also tell Auburn is hungry. Auburn no be content with simply having good match; will be fighting heart out to walk away with Valor Championship.
::She pauses.::
Merlot Ayano: Satomi-chan, will learn this when you first wrestle. But, is very hard entering into new company. Is always uphill battle. Always got to fight to prove you belong. And is type of fight and mentality Auburn will bring to ring. She will be fighting to prove she why should be respected. Will be fighting to prove she is deserving of place and opportunity. And will be fighting to prove she ready to step out into forefront of Proving Grounds.
::Satomi gets a bit saddened.::
Satomi Kanemoto: Can you still beat her though?
::Merlot gives her a reassuring smile.::
Merlot Ayano: Hai Hai!
:She nods.::
Merlot Ayano: Auburn will be fighting heart out—but so will Merlot. Even though hold Valor Championship for long time, Merlot still feel like have much to prove. Merlot still hungry too. Will walk into match with same fire as Auburn. And during course of match, fire will burn white hot. Hai!
::Her words cheer the young girl up.::
Satomi Kanemoto: I hope you win.
Merlot Ayano: Thank you!
::Merlot gives her a small bow.::
Merlot Ayano: Sooo, what Satomi like? Signed picture or photo with Merlot?
Satomi Kanemoto: Both please, if it’s okay.
Merlot Ayano: Hai! Is perfect.
::The camera fades out as Merlot starts to make out a personalized autograph for the girl.::
Segment:
The scene opens in the office of Maddux Kingcade as he goes over some paperwork in front of him. Just then a knock is heard at the door as agent Killian Archer steps into his office.
Killian Archer: My main man, Maddux Kingcade! Have I got an idea for you!
Maddux rolls his eyes for a moment before looking back to Archer.
Maddux Kingcade: And what is that Mr. Archer?
Killian walks up and leans against Maddux's desk.
Killian Archer: Rumor has it you need someone to step up and fill in the void that Lennox leaving opened up. As you know, I represent Larissa Jackson and we both know she has been one of your more consistent talents on this roster. So what do you say Boss man? Give Larissa the opportunity she deserves?
Maddux shakes his head.
Maddux Kingcade: She just had a chance and failed last show to get a Valor Championship match. What has she done to earn a shot at the Destiny Championship?
Killian rubs his chin and then smiles big.
Killian Archer: You make a valid point, Boss man, one of the reasons I love you for... Tell you what, up next Larissa takes on Viv Jimenez right? She's a friend of yours, deserves a chance for a big break... Why not let the winner of that match face Blair later on?
Maddux slowly smiles and nods his head.
Maddux Kingcade: Okay Mr. Archer.. I think that idea would work.
The two of them shake hands as the scene fades out.
Winner Faces Blair Kivistö Later In The Night For the Destiny Championship:
Larissa Jackson vs Viv Jimenez
:: The match starts off with Larissa Jackson and Viviana Jimenez staring one another down in the ring, with this being Viv’s first match back since the most incident, she looks rather hesitant and during the initial lock up, Viv falls back on her foot and Larissa takes advantage, slamming her down and stamping her boot down on Viv’s recently repaired eye socket. The action causes Viv to scream and lash out at Larissa, taking her legs from under her and bringing her down to the canvas, Viv mounts her and begins wailing down blows on her, the official cautions her twice before Viv finally backs off, looking pissed.
Larissa sits up and wipes a little blood from the corner of her mouth, charging Viv she rams her into the corner before she begins bouncing her head off the turnbuckle! Viv looks disoriented as she staggers out the corner, the ref checks on her and Larissa uses this to remove the padding from the turnbuckle, she then grabs Viv by the hair and slams her face first into the exposed metal.
As soon as Larissa releases Viv, it's obvious Viv is in horrendous pain and a small amount of blood has pooled under her eye where blood vessels popped on impact, Viv is clutching at her eye as she turns into a spinning heel kick from Larissa, she drops to the mat and Larissa hooks the leg for the three count. ::
Winner: Larissa Jackson
Segment:
Merlot Ayano: One hundred and twenty-six days…
::The camera fades in slowly. Merlot Ayano is shown sitting on a bench just outside the women’s locker room. Her normally colorful ring gear is absent. Instead, she is wearing all black; perhaps a precursor to what will go down in the ring later that evening.
As the camera continues to zoom in, we see that Merlot has her head tilted downwards. She is gazing at the Proving Grounds Valor Championship, which resting in her hands and lap. Merlot continues gazing at the belt as begins to speak once more.::
Merlot Ayano: One hundred and twenty-six days. Is more days than current Destiny Champion. Is even more days than current Proving Grounds Champion. One hundred and twenty-six days…
::Merlot pauses as she lifts her head up. She then leans back a bit to rest her spine and head against the wall. Her eyes look off at something in the distance.::
Merlot Ayano: Merlot’s long reign probably comes as shock to some. And honestly, cannot really blame them. When think about it, sometimes come as a shock to Merlot too.
::There was a small pause.::
Merlot Ayano: Merlot always try to be open and honest; and will do so here.
::She rubs her right arm.::
Merlot Ayano: Is like, before Merlot joined Proving Grounds, felt like big failure. Felt like career was in shambles at time. Was drifting and floating from promotion to promotion, trying to make something, anything work. But nothing work. For a while, Merlot stop looking for promotions to work for. Took some time off, learned guitar, got real estate license. But in back of mind, still felt like failure. That no sit right with Merlot; had to make it right.
Proving Grounds came at perfect time. As said before, Proving Grounds symbolized redemption. Was a chance for Merlot step back in the ring and try to right those wrongs just mentioned, hai. Proving Grounds was also built in perfect place. What better place to hold promotion that Vegas? What better place than city Merlot has lived in since moved to United States?
::Merlot nods her head.::
Merlot Ayano: And if recall, Merlot came in PGW like house of fire. Had awesome match against McKena Hardy. Had good showing in battle royal for Proving Grounds Championship. Kicked off Valor Championship Tournament with bang up job against El Miedo…
Yet, if can believe, Merlot still felt like failure.
::Merlot pauses as she uses her right hand to brush her hair out of her eyes.::
Merlot Ayano: Merlot felt like failure because still had doubt in mind. Merlot doubted skills at times. Merlot doubted self at times. Merlot doubted if could really achieve that redemption she sought…
But even when Merlot doubted herself, even when Merlot still felt like failure, still went out there to fight with all of heart. Is what a student of Zero/FOUR Dojo does. Is what an Ayano does. You step into ring and fight as hard as can—no matter circumstances or odds.
::Merlot runs her fingers across the Valor nameplate.::
Merlot Ayano: In midst of the fight, Merlot captured the Valor Championship. And in midst of holding Valor belt, Merlot learned she no failure.
::She nods.::
Merlot Ayano: A failure is person who is knocked down and stay down forever. Has never been Merlot. When injured leg in early days, wanted to quit—but didn’t. Merlot eventually found way back to sport. When Merlot was getting banged up and disrespected, still held up high. When felt like career was falling apart, Merlot was still doing best to hold pieces together. Even when took small break, heart yearned to be in ring—is why jumped so quickly when opportunity at Proving Grounds came knocking. Merlot always get back up, even when no want to—is just who am.
::There’s a pause.::
Merlot Ayano: Reign as Valor Champion taught Merlot to believe in self to fullest. And with help of Sensei Aimi and girlfriend, was able to kill self-doubt. Was able to kill fear. So today can stand up and say Merlot no failure. No matter what people say, Merlot no failure!
::She nods as she leans forward a bit and looks directly into the camera.::
Merlot Ayano: Is why Merlot confident going into match a Auburn Cox. Is no more room for doubt and fear. Only room for determination and poise!
::She glances back down at the championship belt once more.::
Merlot Ayano: Auburn, tonight we go toe to toe for top prize in Proving Grounds. Merlot know Eliza will take exception. Will say that she is top dog. Will say she has more defenses. Will say that everyone in PGW should kiss grounds she walks on. Other champions might be mad too. However, facts are facts. And facts are that Valor Championship exemplifies everything that Proving Grounds stands for: intense and physical action, reverence to the sport of professional wrestling, and respect for respectives skills. Is why Merlot will always say it is top prize in company.
::Merlot begins to get that fiery look in her eyes as she looks back up and into the camera.::
Merlot Ayano: Merlot watched your matches, Auburn-chan. Debut against Oskar Brozovic was sight to see. Got beat down a bit in beginning, but fought way back into match. Then was able to seal deal with beautiful shining wizard. Was impressive. Then went on to impress more when defeated Rayner, Court,and Larissa to earn Valor contendership. Is three very awesome wrestlers, three wrestlers with iron will to succeed—and Auburn still put them to rest.
Merlot see a hunger in Auburn. A burning fire. Is hunger and fire that propelled her against her last four opponents. Tonight is no just another match for her; Auburn will be fighting to prove that she is one of the best in Proving Grounds. And is no better way to do that than by winning Valor Championship, hai?
::Merlot nods.::
Merlot Ayano: You determination and passion is noted Auburn-chan. Is also much appreciated. However—
::She shakes her head.::
Merlot Ayano: Merlot no just going to lay down and let you have belt because you think it’s your time. No going to just let you walk away with Valor Championship because you are determined.
Champions sometimes get complacent. Fight with much vigor to get belt, but less vigor to defend. But Merlot no like most champions. Auburn is hungry, hai—but Merlot just as hungry. Still fight with same vigor as did before held belt; is the only way to succeed. And Merlot’s inside fire so white it could scorch the earth.
Even though Merlot believe in herself, many people still no think great wrestler. They ignore Merlot talent. They ignore Merlot skills. But one thing they can’t ignore is Merlot’s matches; they can never ignore the results. Been having stellar matches each and every show, despite the odds. And with each match, been building allure and prestige of Valor Championship.
::Merlot takes a hold the belt and drapes it over her right shoulder.::
Merlot Ayano: Tonight, Merlot fight to prove why she has no been pinned in singles competition within PGW. Merlot fight to prove why she is longest reigning champion in company. Merlot fight to prove why she champion in first place. Merlot fight to prove why Valor Championship is one of best in entire industry!
::She stands to her feet.::
Merlot Ayano: Auburn, good luck tonight. Hai…
::Merlot exits the shoot. The camera fades out.::
Grudge Match:
Xavier Cain vs Jared Bishop
The match itself was fairly evenly matched, with Jared getting the upper hand and beating Xavier down into the canvas, without the back up of the pack who had already cut their losses from the company and left, Xavier was left more prone to the superior attack of Jared who kept Xavier down with a few strong combinations before picking up the three count.
Winner: Jared Bishop
Segment:
The Big Video Screen lights up as we head backstage at the Mandalay Bay Events Center. Kelly Rosen is joined by PGW Upstart Auburn Cox, who receives a rapturous ovation by the Vegas Crowd. Auburn Cox is dressed to compete in green and white ring gear. A white tanktop with a green outline on the edges, white wristbands, green elbow pads, and a white pair of pants which had a red dragon on her rear side. She patted Kelly on the back as they greeted one another privately. Auburn looked really pumped up for what was to come tonight, and had American Flag on a holster besides her, which also received a favourable response from the Nevada faithful, as they loved any show of Patriotism for the greatest nation on earth. Kelly was about to do the introductions, however instead Auburn decided to kick it off.
Auburn Cox: Welcome PGW to another night of fun action in the Mandalay Bay Events Center. The Ultimate Entertainment Venue. Right here in not Las Vegas, Nevada but in Paradise, Nevada. For what you see here tonight, especially when you see me…Auburn Cox… and the Valor Champion…Merlot Ayano… go toe to toe, face to face, woman to woman, for the Valor Championship is going to be a display of extensive grappling skill that will make you think you are in Heaven.
Auburn knew how to get a crowd amped up and sell a fight, so that they were invested and eager to see what action would unfold in a blockbuster match between herself and Merlot.
Auburn Cox: For it will be out of this world. Mesmerising, Awe Inspiring, an Instant Classic. I never really appreciated the gravitas and magnitude of competing in a fabulous arena as great as this for PGW. Until Tonight.
Auburn smelled an alluring scent in the atmosphere, the type of scent that was causing goosebumps to run through her body, and the hairs on the back of her neck to stand up in anticipation of something special that was about to occur.
Kelly Rosen: Why is that?
Kelly with her inquisitive nature wanted to know why Auburn Cox was so amped up, and Auburn obliged gracefully to give her the answer.
Auburn Cox: It’s a big night, and a big match for me. A chance at the Valor Championship. Merlot Ayano. I can feel it in the air. I got a feeling that tonight is going to be a good night. In front of near enough twelve thousand people, in a venue which has seen everything from one of the Queens of Pop in Katy Perry, to the juggernauts of duals between the MMA Gods of UFC, to TV extravaganzas like the Latin GRAMMY Awards. And of course PGW own weekly blockbuster that is Destiny, as well as the Super shows of Emergence in May, and Collateral Damage in June, and now tonight Blood in the Water!
There was a glaring flaw in what Auburn was pointing out, and Kelly decided to investigate the matter further.
Kelly Rosen: Auburn… every event PGW has done has been at this venue, you are only realizing this now. You’ve already been here for over a month, you should know this.
Auburn was super quick to nip her concerns in the bud, and elaborated why it was so important to appreciate the Venue for the show.
Auburn Cox: I do know Babes. However sometimes you are so blinded by your own reality, you do not allow yourself to appreciate the surroundings and environment in which you perfect your craft. I am well aware I have already competed here… TWICE! I am well aware every PGW event has been here, as have I… two times. I have competed under a PGW banner, in this great building before, and I have not utilised the single greatest weapon to my advantage as of yet, but tonight I will.
Kelly Rosen: What weapon are you talking about?
Auburn pointed towards the ringside area.
Auburn Cox: The Crowd BABES! THE PEOPLE! THE PGW UNIVERSE! THE GREATEST COLLECTION OF INDIVIDUALS IN THE GALAXY! Their support means everything to me. A roaring audience provides me energy to do what I need to do inside that ring, and powers me to push through when times get tough in a match. I did not use the crowd the last two times I was here in PGW, because honestly they do not know enough about me to probably care. I will make them care.
Auburn wanted to bring her level of likeability to a new audience, which had not yet been abuzz to the wonders that is the Auburn Cox happytimes rollercoaster.
Auburn Cox: Right from the word GO! It is why I love it, absolutely love it when my music hits and I come out to that ring that the crowd are instantly buzzing with me. I want them to singalong my song. I want them to sing their hearts out without a fear in the world likes it the world’s greatest show of Karaoke. I want them all to have a good time. I want them to have a fun time. That helps me to express myself and have some fun in that ring, regardless of the opponent, or difficulty of the challenges I may face in a wrestling match.
With People you can grow to something you never thought imaginable, and without the people you can remain stagnant, and wallow in self-pity in the gutter.
I am not wallowing, or remaining idle in my position at planet nowhere. So I will show them all who I am, I will win them over and have them chanting my name as loud as they can, just as I have been doing on every step of my PGW journey.
They chant Merlot’s name with great pride right now because she has been a proven Valor Champion, a battle tested Champion, and a real empress of that ring. Once I am done at Blood in the Water, the only name purring on everybody lips will be mine! As great as Merlot is, has been, and always will be. It is nothing compared to what I can bring to the table.
For a tidal wave of change is coming though to PGW. A dawning of a new era in the legacy of the Valor Championship is about to begin. Merlot may not know it, PGW may not know it, but come the end of Blood in The Water, nobody will ever forget or question Auburn Cox is. Because just as I have been doing since Day One, I will prove my worth, I will prove my Ground, and I will be the NEW Valor Champion, come hell or high water.
Why? Because I love life and that is simply what I do. Shock. Awe. Conquer. Repeat. Win. The buck doesn’t trend Tonight.
Auburn felt she was finished and was ready to call it a wrap and go get ready for a battle of all ages against Merlot. Kells however was not done with Auburn suprisingly.
Kelly Rosen: As big a game as you talk, being realistic for a moment... Do you not think this opportunity for the Valpr Championship has come too soon for you.
Auburn nodded in agreement.
Auburn Cox: When I faced Oskar in my debut they said I wasn't ready. And I proved them wrong. When I faced Rayner, Court and Larissa to earn rhis opportunity against Merlot nobody gave me a chance. And I proved them wrong. Whoever 'they' think the are, all they do is talk. Whereas me, I prefer to do my talking where it matters, in a wrestling ring. For actions speak louder than words.
This could be too soon for me to face someone as good as Merlot. But you take what you are given in life. I didn't ask to be number one contender; I didn't ask to be afforded an opportunity of a lifetime in only my third match in PGW. But you better believe I will take it, and I will continue to burn my light brighter than anyone had ever imagined before.
Who am I? I am a nobody, just another statistic to add on Merlot's history Championship Reign as Valor Champion, and she has been a Champions Champion there is no doubt about that. Taking on all comers, and knocking them down. This is the toughest test of my life, but I will rise up to it, and just as Merlot has crushed everyone in her path with her fighting spirit...
Auburn was about to continue, but Kells momentarily cut her off.
Kelly Rosen: Many have tried to beat Merlot, and Many have failed.
Auburn Cox: I am under no fantasy just exactly how hard this will be.
Tonight At Blood In The Water... I will stun the world and the PGW universee and crush Merlot Ayano. Don't believe me? Good. I like making believers out of those who doubt me. For doubt, is my greatest benefactor. Doubt is what motivates me to perservere and drives me to succeed.
Kelly Rosen: So then why do it. Be a wrestler and compete against Merlot in the biggest match of your life?
Auburn looked over to the American flag she originally had on the holster next to her, and proudly touched it running her fingers through its velveteen texture.
Auburn Cox: The American Dream. A simple concept where regardless of where you come from, what you believe in, or what you live for, the measure of who you are rather than what you are determines your success rate. As long as you come to this great nation of America with a willingness to put in hard work and effort anything is possible and the sky is the limit for your ambitions.
For if you can make it big in 'Murica, then you can make it anywhere. That is why I left the farm I grew up in England to live The American Dream. That is why I left my family and my 13 siblings behind and never looked back or regretted my decision. From a gruelling two week boat journey from the Port of Penzance in England, to Liberty Island in New York. To another five days of being left in the wilderness travelling across the east coast to the middle of america and then the west coast. To search for a job, any job... any where that I could live and fufill my American Dream.
That is how I landed in Vegas. That is how I got noticed by PGW. In hopes to get here and to be a wrestler. And not to be just any wrestler, but the greatest wrestler you have ever seen. It is the one thing in life I am good at, and the only talent of wrestling is what I know to maximise my own potential. I have got a long way to go. My development and training is ongoing everyday.
Auburn knew the work still needed to be done for er to get where she wanted to be. Hard work and graft was not something she feared, she embraced it.
Auburn Cox: But every day that goes by I am getting stronger, every moment that passes I am getting better, every second that ticks away I am evolving and becoming more skilled. Will Merlot be able to handle that, the ever changing Chameleon within me. Will Merlot be able to break the foundation I am building when I am hardening brick by brick by the minute. Merlot craves for competiton, it is what defines her. Well Babes, if you wanted competition. You GOT IT!
Just dont be upset when that competition slaps you in the face, kick you down to size, and takes your Valor Championship like how you took a stranglehold on the whole division. Because for that I make no apology. I have to be ruthless like that, because to beat you Merlot I have to give it everything I got and you better believe I will.
VIVA LAS VEGAS! VIVA AUBURN COX BABY!
She held up a two finger peace sign and then jigged her way out of the camera shot, along with the American Flag. Auburn was ready to give Merlot her all later on tonight, and she hoped Merlot would give as good as she was going to get. Kelly was left smiling on looking at Auburn as she walked away getting prepared for her match. We return to ringside.
Segment:
::The camera comes to life as a video package loads up. We see highlights of Auburn Cox’s Proving Grounds debut match against Oskar Brozovic. Auburn counters a suplex into a nasty swing DDT. The video then shows her hitting a massive missile dropkick followed by multiple shoot kicks. She then clobbers her opponent with a shining wizard to pick up the pin.
Cut to scenes of Merlot Ayano’s first title defense against Lizzie Jones. Lizzie slams Merlot’s back against the ring apron before she tosses the champion around the ring with multiple suplexes. Lizzie attempts her finisher, but Merlot downs her with a roundhouse and gets the pin. The bell rings as Merlot is handed the Valor Championship.
Next, the camera cuts to the four-way Valor Championship contendership match. We see scenes of Auburn hitting various high flying moves, including that nifty and effective missile dropkick of hers. The match concludes with her patented shining wizard. Cut to Merlot’s second defense against Kai Walker. The highlights include their impressive chain-wrestling sequence, followed by a showcase of Kai’s flying ability. Nevertheless, Merlot counters a missed springboard moonsault by rolling him into a lebell lock. Kai is forced to tap out. The two shake hands afterwards.
The picture then goes black.::

Valor Championship Match:
Auburn Cox vs Merlot Ayano ©
The referee called both competitors to the middle of the ring before the bout. Auburn and Merlot exchanged a firm and respectful handshake before they both backed away to their respective corners. The referee then called for the bell. Auburn took the fight to Valor Champion right off the bat. The initial story of the match was that Auburn was always a just a step of two faster than Merlot. Auburn lept to the top rope after she’d stunned Merlot with a sole-but kick to the gut. As Merlot stood back up, Auburn jumped and twisted in the air. She grabbed Merlot’s limbs and sent her flying across the ring with an Tornillo armdrag. Merlot rolled underneath the bottom rope on instincts, but she wasn’t safe out there either. Auburn walked across the ring, used the ropes to springboard up, and soared through the air with a beautiful shooting star press. Auburn landed on her feet and raised her fist in the air as the crowd shouted to the heavens. She then rolled Merlot into the ring, went for the cover, and received a two-count.
Auburn’s assault continued for a while longer. She caught the Valor Champion with an impressive shotgun missile dropkick from the top rope; but instead of going for the cover, Auburn went back to the top rope. She leapt off of it with a swanky moonsault; however, Merlot had the wherewithal to put her knees up. She then rolled Auburn through and went for the pin, only to receive a two-count. The momentum shifted as the competitors stood back up as Merlot turned the bout into a striking match. Auburn and Merlot began exchanging stiff forearms. Auburn was holding her own until she got rocked with a quick flurry. Not to be outdone, Auburn connected with a bicycle toe kick to Merlot’s chin. Merlot ate another one, but it seemed to fire her up as she screamed at Auburn. The England native then fired in a stiff roundhouse. Auburn would have gotten the win had Merlot not got her shoulder up at the last possible second.
Auburn and Merlot battled back and forth for a bit. Segment:
Emma Haynes is seen in the locker room as Kelly Rosen walks up to Emma. Emma takes her ear phones off and rolls her eyes as she looks at the interviewer.
Kelly: Emma, you have a huge match coming up tonight against Lizzie Jones. You two have been at each other’s throats for weeks now. Are you ready for what could possibly be in store for you coming up?
Emma: Kelly, Kelly, Kelly, of course I’m as ready as I can be. You can’t really prepare for a match that has no rules, where pinfalls can take place anywhere inside or outside of the arena. You just have to go out there and fight like it’s your last match and leave it all out on the table.
Kelly: There was stuff flying around on social media awhile back that claimed you were scared to face Lizzie in a match like this. Is this true?
Emma: No. Well, technically at first when the match was announced, I was scared because let’s face it, Jones is a psycho bitch who loves to attack people from behind when their already at a weakened state like she did to me two weeks ago. This whole situation stemmed from the fact that she lost to a rookie in her second match and her ego couldn’t handle the fact that I’m better than her, so what’s she do? She chases me down with a steel chair in hand. Kelly, who wouldn’t be afraid of someone with a weapon when they’re completely defenseless and backed into a corner?
Kelly: Well, you did cheat to beat her, Emma.
Emma: Where’s the proof? Does the record book state that I cheated or just simply defeated Lizzie Jones via pinfall?
Kelly: That you defeated her, but you had your feet on the ropes.
Emma stands there proudly with a huge smile on her face as she looks at Kelly.
Emma: That was after the three count because I was trying to get off her and back to my feet and they got tangled up in the ropes for a minute. I pinned her fair and square in that match and she loses her marbles and has been after me ever since.
Kelly: What about last Destiny when you were the one to strike first and attack Liz from behind?
Emma: I was just trying to show her that you don’t pass on a chance to become number one contender to the Proving Grounds Championship. Saying someone deserves the shot over you is like saying someone deserves the last slice pizza more than you. It’s disrespectful to the title to not even care enough to fight for a chance to do battle for it. She claimed that she was shown she wasn’t ready to be a champion, that Gavin deserved the opportunity more than she did and all she cared about was getting her hands on me. The only thing people should care about in this company is becoming Proving Grounds Champion and she threw her one and only chance to do that right out the window by walking out of the match with one of her little friends. So, I decided to show her what I thought of her little act of honor to stand up to the system and took a steel chair to her.
Emma smirks to the camera.
Emma: She got a taste of what’s to come tonight. She wanted the match to have no rules so she could utilize weapons because she knows there’s no way she has a chance to beat me without them. She knows the only way she walks out of our final encounter with a victory is if she was allowed to use weapons and not fight me one on one in the middle of the ring in a normal match. She had to try and stack the odds in her favor because she’s simply not good enough in the ring any other way against me. Jones, tonight you will find out that even in the match you wanted, you still won’t be good enough to beat me and you will probably bitch and moan even more when I beat you at your own game and all of your little friends will come running to your aid and say that I probably slept with the ref again or that I somehow cheated in a match with no rules. Tonight, there is no more running, no more talking. Tonight, we bloody the ever living hell out of one another and beat each other senseless. Just remember though Jones, when I’m standing over you with my hand held high in victory, you asked for this match and the beating you’re about to receive at my hands. Whatever happens to you is your fault and I will stop at nothing to make sure this whole saga between is finished once and for all.
Emma puts her headphones back on as she looks at Kelly with a massive smile before walking off.

Lizzie: Give me that.
::She takes the microphone from the cameraman and steps back, ready to talk::
Lizzie: Lizzie Jones here, backstage at Blood in the Water, and joined at this time by my guest...me. So, Liz, we're finally here at the big event...you've got Emma Haynes in our scope...how do you feel?
::She ponders her own question for a moment::
Lizzie: Well...I'm excited, Liz. I'm eager to put this issue to bed. And not bed in the way Emma does, if you know what I mean…
::She mockingly mimics a blowjob, bringing up the vicious and unproven rumor that Emma slept with a referee::
Lizzie: Fair to say you've had an issue with her. Will tonight bring that to an end?
::She nods::
Lizzie: I sure think so. One way or another, I think so.
::She smiles to the camera::
Lizzie: What next then, after this?
::Liz shakes her head::
Lizzie: One step at a time, let's get through this first. Tonight Emma is going to just what I can do. Tonight I break her fragile little ego and hand her the L.

Destiny Championship Match:
Larissa Jackson vs Blair Kivistö ©
Despite the last minute change in opponents, Blair looked ready as she squared up against Larissa, a cocky smirk plastered across her lips as she slowly stalked around blair, calling for her to take her shot, blair was smarter than that Pugh and goaded Larissa into a lock up which she easily came out on top of and with a leg sweep, she slammed Larissa’s back down to the mat with a smirk of her own. Blair stepped on Larissa’s abdomen with a stomp and literally walked over the downed girl before turning and calling for her to get up.
Larissa was quick to roll up to her knees and looked up at Blair with that same cocky smile, getting to her feet she rammed blair with a strong spear into the corner, using a hold on the ropes to back up and slam her shoulder into Blair’s stomach a few times until eventually the referee cautions Larissa who is forced to back off, hands in the air she mocks Blair and calls her out of the corner.
The pair shared some more back and forth, both looking on mostly even footing with Blair having the superior technical skill, showing Larissa around the ring on more than one occasion with some strong to the mat and a close two count. But eventually the cocky and assured style of Larissa won out, using her feet on the ropes for leverage, unseen by the referee, Larissa rolled up Blair for the three count!
Winner: Larissa Jackson (NEW Destiny Champion)

:: Eliza Valentine stands just outside her locker room, the door pulled shut behind her and the PGW Championship around her waist, she runs her hand over the faceplate of the belt before addressing the camera. ::
Eliza Valentine: Tonight, I get the match I have been wanting ever since Gavin Grimes blindsided me weeks ago… I wish I could say it will be an honour and privilege to find myself across the ring from such a legend. Believe me, I wish I could say that. The Gavin Grimes I watched on television when I was just clawing my way into a televised spot, the Gavin Grimes who has had an epic rise in this industry like no other… The Gavin Grimes who is an inspiring and deserving Champion.
:: Eliza pushes up from the wall and shakes her head slowly. ::
Eliza Valentine: But that is not the Gavin Grimes I am stepping into the ring with tonight, no the Gavin Grimes I am stepping into the ring with tonight is an attention starved, social media whore, willing to do absolutely anything to get a few likes on his tweets. This Gavin Grimes would rather pander to pic-whoring Instagram models turned wrestlers, he would rather align himself with ass kissing yes-men.
:: Eliza rolls her eyes with an exaggerated sigh, a shrug follows before she rests both hands on her championship belt. ::
Eliza Valentine: Instead of promoting his matches, instead of donating time to the community and using his social media presence as a positive influence on the world and the industry at large… Gavin Grimes would rather tell people to look themselves - he would rather jump on any passing band wagon to fit in with the ‘in-crowd’. And quite honestly? It's pathetic.
:: Eliza nods her head slowly as her gaze pierces down the lens. ::
Eliza Valentine: Win or Lose tonight, I will leave here knowing that I stood by my morals. That despite being the so-called bad guy, I never once threw away my belief system to look ‘good’. And people can say what they want about me.. about my relationship and my reign as champion here in PGW, because I honestly don't give a fuck. There is one simple fact I will leave here tonight knowing, a fact many of you will come to learn…
It's better the devil you know.
Segment:
The scene opens up backstage to Gavin Grimes walking back and forth in front of a camera. He's wearing his ring gear and he also has a championship across his shoulder; The HKW Underground North American Championship. Gavin stops in front of the camera and stares into it.
Gavin Grimes: Tonight's the night. Eliza Valentine versus Gavin Grimes for the Proving Grounds Championship. While I've proven time and time again that I belong… Eliza hasn't. Look at me for instance…
Gavin looks down at his North American Championship.
Gavin Grimes: I went out to a place that I wasn't familiar with and I became a champion but not just that, I became a leader in a place I wasn't used to. I've proven that I'm a top guy no matter where I go. NGW, HKW and now Proving Grounds. But Eliza? She can't hang with me.
Gavin scoffs and shakes his head.
Gavin Grimes: She has no chance in hell against me. That being said, I know she's talented but the thing is, she's not talented enough. Her best talent is clearly fucking the boss to get ahead. Right? How many shots did you get at Aiden before you won that belt again?
Gavin chchckles abd shrugs.
Gavin Grimes: But for me… All I need is one shot… ONE opportunity. And that? That's a proven fact because every time I get my first crack at a title, I win it and that's not going to change tonight.
He steps towards the camera and his eyes are as serious as ever.
Gavin Grimes: Not only is tonight about me being the PG Champion though… Tonight is about me destroying Eliza Valentine. It's about me showing that I'm still at the top of my game. It's about me showing that I still haven't lost a goddamned step. It's about me showing that I'm STILL one of the best in the world, if not THE best.
Gavin glances over at his empty shoulder and smirks.
Gavin Grimes: And now it's time for me to go out there and become a double champion, which is not a lot most folks can say. Are you ready? Because I am. Because I fight for my than just myself. I fight for my family. For Ash and…
A warm smile crosses Gavin’s face.
Gavin Grimes: And for our baby on the way. And let me tell you, I'll do whatever it takes to provide for my family. Can you say the same Eliza? Of course you can't. You jump from person to person because you only care for yourself and trust me, selfishness only takes you so far. And it won't be far enough against me. You're looking at the new Proving Grounds Champ tonight. Believe that!
Gavin nods and walks away and the scene fades out.
Falls Count Anywhere Match:
Emma Haynes vs Lizzie Jones
Lizzie wasted no time in charging Emma, taking her head off with a strong arm lariat and slamming her down to the mat. Emma rolled to the outside where Liz made chase. Emma was smart enough to call it as Liz charged and with a flick of her feet managed to hook and trip Liz so she hit the steel steps hard.
The two are back on their feet both a little worse for wear when Lizzie drags a chair out from under the ring, slamming it into the stomach of Emma and knocking her down, she lifts the chair up and slams it down several times onto the now prone Emma, before wrenching her up and tossing her UP the ramp, Emma starts to roll back down and is met with a stiff kick to the spine.
Emma somehow makes her way up the ramp with Lizzie taunting her the whole way, snatching her up she powerbombs her off the side of the stage and down through some production boxes, being sure not to let up for a second. Lizzie is down in seconds and pins Emma for the win.
Winner: Lizzie Jones

Viv sits backstage in the trainer's room, her eye has been patched; her top has a few drops of blood on it and she's sitting extremely still apart from a small amount of shaking in her hands, she sucks in a breath and sighs. As the door clicks open she turns her head to look, bruising apparent across her nose and already forming beneath the patch she half smiles at Sean Callaghan and shakes her head.
Viv Jimenez: No que vas mijo, you don't need to be back here… It's bad enough you saw… that.
She sighs again and goes to push off of the examination bench where she is sitting, but her eye being damaged affects her equilibrium and she stumbles, Sean catches her and holds her up, wrapping his arms around her he makes a shush sound as he kisses her forehead.
Sean Callaghan: What are you talking about? You were amazing!
Viv leans into him letting out a final sad sigh as she holds onto his shirt for some support, her head pounding and a possible concussion setting in a fog in her head.
Viv Callaghan: I… messed everything up, again. I-
Sean cuts her off with a soft kiss and shakes his head, a frown forming with a knot of his brow as he smiles at her.
Sean Callaghan: You didn't mess anything up, I'm still so proud of you and I won't hear any different. I know things look bad right now, but I'm here and I'm not going anywhere…
She looks down with a slight flinch, the pain obvious and the confusion causing her to stumble through her words as though she can barely form them.
Viv Callaghan: What if, this is it this time… I'm scared…
Brushing the hair from her face he very tenderly tilts her head up to look into her face.
Sean Callaghan: Whatever happens, we're going to face it together.
Segment:
Aoife Byrne stands backstage with a smile on her face, dressed in street clothes of a pair of skin tight black pants and a cutaway white shirt. Her brown hair in loose curls about her shoulders, she half smiles and rolls her eyes.
Aoife Byrne: This isn't one of those moments where I put the whole roster on notice, I am not going to sit here and rant and rave about how I am the best thing that has ever happened to this company… No one needs to clutch their championships and I don't expect anyone to pretend to fear me.
Aoife laughs and wags her finger no at the camera.
Aoife Byrne: In fact, all this is, is me letting you all know… I'm back. And playtime might not be over, I might not be pointing fingers and staking claims, but I am here to promise all of the fans entertainment… I am here to throw my hat in on this new future Sage Morgan is offering all of us, I am here to raise my hand and be counted.
Aoife walks up to the camera with a smirk on her lips.
Aoife Byrne: As for what you do with that? Well… that's up to you.
