It had been a pretty normal Wednesday. Blair was spending some time at Angel and Joey's place, watching some movies with her little ones until it was time to put them down for naps. Taking her leave at that point she said goodbye to both Joey and her sister before starting the walk back to her place, only a few doors down.
Her phone vibrates in the pocket of her skinny jeans, which causes her to pull it out and look at the screen, seeing that notification from Isaac, a small smile came to her lips as she responded to it. It wasn't until that phone vibrated again and she saw what was said that the smile fell from her face, her heart rate speeding up as a few different emotions start to race through her.
“Wonderful…”
The word came out, laced with a heavy tone of sarcasm as she replied the only way she could think of.
“You'd think I'd know better by now…”
Looking up from where she was she realizes her feet had managed to take her the rest of the way home as she sent off her last response. Even at her front door she was hesitating going through it, not wanting to face what she was sure was on the other side waiting for her.
“Just go.”
Taking a deep breath, Blair made her way through the door and slowly walks into the house, closing the door behind her. She didn't know what was racing more at this point, her heart or her mind.
“I'm back.”
She calls out in a pretty shaky voice as she makes her way into the living room, already pretty sure what was waiting for her and trying to brace herself for the impact of the discussion that was about to come.
“I'm just getting a beer… You want one too?”
He walks out of the kitchen, two beers in hand and a smile on his face until he sees Blair, visually shaken to a small degree, but noticeable. He sets the beers down on the end table and runs his hand through his hair.
“What's wrong?”
“As of right now? Nothing that I know of but you know how it goes.”
She shifts slightly where she stood, biting on her lower lip.
“You said we needed to talk. Knowing my luck, that's never a good thing.”
He shakes his head, a smirk forming on his lips.
“Get your ass over here and kiss me…”
His tone is playful as is his actions as he bites at his lower lip.
“Don't make me beg you.”
Her eyebrow raises as she started to feel herself calm down just a little.
“Might have to make you beg so I know this whole thing isn't about you going away.”
She takes a few small steps toward him.
“Baby…”
He reaches out and pulls her into his arms. He softly kisses her forehead.
“I told you, I'm not going anywhere and despite what I do for a living… I am a man of my word. But, I did say I needed to talk with you.”
He swallows hard, taking a moment to think out his words.
“I haven't told you much of my family. I got a call from them today and… I got a kid sister who keeps gettin into shit. My folks hope I can straighten her out or they are gonna disown her or somethin.”
She breathes out a sigh of relief as she moves her arms to wrap around him.
“See… You can lead with family stuff not just we need to talk. Considering how I seem to be cursed or something when it comes to all this nothing makes me more nervous than that.”
She tilts her head up to look at him.
“So basically they're shipping her off to you… Can we set up a tent in the backyard? It'd be like a cabana…”
He chuckles and shakes his head.
“Nah, she's too stubborn for that and I don't wanna deal with her bitchin about it. Hopefully movin out here will help her remove her head from her ass.”
He lifts up Blair’s chin with his hand and kisses her lips.
“How'd I get someone perfect like you? Understanding, sexy, absolutely gorgeous? And a fuckin great cook.”
He scoffs that turns into a short laugh.
“And you think I wouldn't stick around…”
“You said the dreaded phrase. How was I supposed to know it was about your little sister? I don't recall you ever mentioning one to begin with and considering we all know how much I love my own siblings… Okay… Can't blame you.”
She chuckles softly before shaking her head.
“I'm far from perfect, sweetheart and you better warn her I have an extremely low tolerance for bitchery under my roof. This is my chill zone, don't want that disrupted.”
He nods his head, a sly smirk coming to his face.
“And if she does… There's enough room to bury her in the backyard.”
“I'd bury her in the backyard, right next to you, if you don't make this whole mess up to me.”
Blair shakes her head.
“Soooo lucky you're still standing right now.”
“I tell myself that every morning.”
He arches his brow with a smile on his face.
“Tell ya what, I'll make dinner, including dessert… Plus give you a foot and shoulder massage.”
He shrugs his shoulders.
“Sound like a deal, babe?”
“Hmm…”
She licks over her lower lip before grinning at him.
“Replace foot massage with a back massage and I'm going to need you to throw breakfast and midnight snack into the mix as well.”
He chuckles.
“Okay, you drive a hard bargain but… I love making you happy.”
She smiles.
“Even without a deal you make me happy.”
Leaning up she places a soft kiss on his lips, letting it linger for a moment before pulling back.
“And you're not allowed to stop or leave. Seriously… I'll hunt your ass down.”
He chuckles.
“Ain't going nowhere… Without you.”
He lifts her up in his arms and kisses her passionately. He then starts to walk towards the bedroom with Blair in his arms.
