Proving Grounds Wrestling Presents:
Collateral Damage
Live from the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada
July 06, 2017
::The show opens with the crowd roaring loudly as the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas is filled to capacity. In the middle of the ring is the Proving Grounds GM, Maddux Kingcade with the GM of Fucking Awesome Wrestling, Zooey Anderson. Maddux raises his hand to calm down the fans as he then raises a microphone to his mouth.::
Maddux Kingcade: Welcome everyone to the Proving Grounds super show, Collateral Damage!
::Then fans cheer with approval as Maddux gives a big smile.::
Maddux Kingcade: Now before we have the great action that you all came here for, Zooey Anderson and myself have a huge, blockbuster announcement concerning both of the companies that we are in charge of.
::Zooey raises a microphone of her own and offers a curled lip smile as she looks slightly down her nose at the fans, wetting her lips before she begins.::
Zooey Anderson: Whilst Maddux and I both represent different companies, the conglomerate behind them has become one and the same, with this in mind, the investors have decided to combine both companies under one big umbrella.
::She pauses for a moment and glances at Maddux, pacing around the ring now.::
Zooey Anderson: Destiny and Delirium will BOTH be Proving Grounds Wrestling shows; details as to the expansion and split of the rosters, championships, etc. will be given over the coming weeks.
Maddux Kingcade: That's right, this is just the official announcement of this epic merger that will happen in September and at that time, Proving Grounds gets a large dose of Fucking Awesome.
::The fans then cheer wildly.::
::Emma is seen backstage in the locker room getting prepared for her match doing some stretches and the like with headphones in. After a few minutes, she takes the headphones out as she notices the camera.::
Emma: Tonight, I make my debut in a wrestling ring and tonight, I win my first wrestling match. I’ve been trained by one of the best to step into this ring and she has taught me and prepared me for almost anything I could expect out there. Now, I know things are even more unpredictable in a triple threat match, I’ve seen enough of them to know that much, but I also know in a triple threat, it’s not about being the best, it’s about being the most opportunistic. It requires strategy and brains to really excel at a match like this and I know I have both.
::Emma grabs a chair and sits down in it as she smiles widely.::
Emma: I know I’m a rookie and people wonder if the bright lights and the crowd are going to make me nervous, but I know I’m ready for it all, I crave the bright lights and the crowds having all eyes on me. I don’t care if you like me or you hate me, but after tonight, you will see that I deserve to have the spotlight on me and I will prove that I’m ready for the big time. I’ve been taught to trust nobody in that ring and only look out for yourself. Stab them in the back before you can be stabbed. I know this business is all about doing what is best for you and not caring about how you win. I don’t need honor to be the best, I don’t have to do the right thing in order to win matches. No, I have to win by any means necessary and that is exactly what I am going to do tonight. Now, if you please, I need to finish getting ready for my debut. Get the hell out of the locker room.
::Emma shoves the camera out of the locker room and slams the door shut.::
::The camera fades in as Alex Kerns is standing poised in the parking lot of the Mandalay Bay Events Center. The timestamp on the bottom right-hand corner of the video shows that it was filmed a bit before the pay-per-view was scheduled to air. As the picture becomes fully clear, Alex smiles slightly and lifts up his microphone.::
Alex Kerns: Good evening everyone! My name is Alex Kerns, Proving Grounds correspondent. It’s set to be another historic evening here at the Mandalay Bay Events Center as Proving Grounds Wrestling hosts its second pay-per-view event, Collateral Damage!
::Alex nods his head in affirmation.::
Alex Kerns: It’s going to be a star-studded event here tonight. We are going to see the likes of McKena Hardy square off against Alaina Laroux. Larissa Jackson, who was very impressive in her tag match last Destiny, will face Blair Kivisto for the Destiny Championship. The spitfire Lizzie Jones challenges for that Valor Championship as she faces Ms. Silent Rain herself, Merlot Ayano. Ying and Yang look to defend the Proving Grounds Tag Team Championships. Kaylee Cross and Aiden Morrow will meet in what will likely be a brutal and hellacious hardcore match. And course, there’s the main event of the evening. After weeks and weeks heated words, after all the perilous encounters, the saga between Natasha and Eliza Valentine will conclude as they battle over the Proving Grounds Championship!::
::He takes a moment to take a breath.::
Alex Kerns: I’m fired up! And the fans are fired up!
::Alex points as the camera cuts over to the arena’s entrance. Although there’s a liberal amount of time before the show, a line of fans and watchers has already formed. They begin to clap and cheer as they spot the camera zooming in on them. The shot lingers on the crowd for another ten seconds or so before it cuts back to Alex.::
Alex Kerns: As I said, it’s set to be an amazing night—
::Alex’s concentration and train of thought is interrupted as an all black Mazda CX-9 smoothly swings into the parking lot and pulls into one of the spaces designated for Proving Grounds talent. The camera zooms and and focuses on the SUV, trying to decipher who it might be. The driver’s side door opens after a moment or two, but the person still can’t be seen. The driver’s door closes as the back door opens up. It appears as if the person is grabbing something off of the back seat. That back door then closes.
Merlot Ayano rounds the back of the vehicle and advances towards the arena. Tonight she ‘s decked out in all Nike. A black and white Nike sports bra, black and white Nike leggings, all white Nike Free TR7 training shoes. She’s carrying a black Nike duffel in her left hand, and the Valor Championship in her right..::
Alex Kerns: It appears that the Valor Champion has just showed up. Let’s see if we can get a word with her.
::The interviewer makes his way across the parking lot.::
Alex Kerns: Ms. Ayano, may I ha—
::Merlot turns her head and gazes in the direction of his voice. Maybe it’s her aura, or perhaps it’s the ferocious look in her eyes, either way, Alex stops dead in his tracks. Merlot then proceeds to enter into the building.
Alex Kerns: The look her eyes. Jesus…
::The camera lingers on Alex a bit before fading out.::
Emma Haynes versus Aoife Byrne versus Sofie Taylor
After some intense back and forth between all three women, Aoife was able to swing a hard right that all but knocked out Taylor, sending her to the outside. Haynes and Aoife then went toe to toe, with Emma showing some distinct skill but not quite being able to duck the hard body shots from Aoife, who went for a pin but only got a two count when it was broken up by Sofie, who then threw Emma out of the ring and took her boots to Aoife, laying hard into her.
Getting back into the ring, Emma made quick work of smashing Sofie down to the mat with a hard bulldog, Aoife rolled to the corner but was unable to get herself back into the match, nursing a sore and bruised midsection as Emma and Sofie went back and forth some before Emma took the final upperhand and rolled Sofie up in a small package for the three count.
Winner: Emma Haynes
::McKena sits on the bench inside her locker room, looking up at Logan with a determined glare to her eye, she lets out a heavy sigh and shakes her head.::
McKena Hardy: I can't let this be what beats me Lo, I need to go out there and make a statement, I'm not that same scared little girl I used to be and it's time I stood up for myself. You were right, this is my chance to show everyone what I can bring to the ring, fuck X and fuck Alaina, this is MY time.
::Logan places his hands on her shoulders and sighs.::
Logan Taylor: You got this baby, you've been training hard and you are more focused than what you have ever been. Fuck Xavier, fuck Lennox… This is now the McKena Hardy show.
::She grins up at him and nods her head once.::
McKena Hardy: Tonight I get to send a message; both to Xavier and the entire roster. Alaina should be scared, she should be worried about what's coming for her because there is no fucking way in HELL I am going to let anyone make a show of me ever again!
::She jumps up from the bench and claps her hands against her thighs with an excited smile.::
McKena Hardy: I got this babe, I can do this!
::Logan gives her a proud smile.::
Logan Taylor: Let's get out there then!
::Together they leave the locker room, excited for the match.::
::The feed cuts away to a clip that says “Recorded Earlier” at the bottom. It shows the same arena but free of all the screaming excited fans. Instead, only Brendan and Ryan Callaghan are present, practicing some sort of running drill. The older brother is huffing and puffing as he runs from the ring to the announcers table before going for a lap around the ring. Halfway through, he starts to slow down to a jog and then a walk, clutching his lower side abdomen with a grimace. As he doubles over, he can barely speak.::
Brendan Callaghan: Okay! Hnn… hnn… Time! Hnn… did I… hnn… do good?
::Ryan walks over to Brendan and he has an Apple watch on his wrist that he’s down at while he shakes his head.::
Ryan Callaghan: Good?! Did you do good? That was trash! We’re never going to win this tag match until you do the thing! So do the thing, Brendan! And do it right! How many times do I have to sit back and watch you do this while eating my burrito? I’m almost out of burrito, damn it!
::Brendan flinches, offended. Not quite from the verbal lashing, but more so due to Ryan eating all the food. His jaw clenches seeing the untouched taco sitting so close to his brother.::
Brendan Callaghan: Trash?? I've been running my ass off aaaallllll day. What have YOU done besides stuffing your face? You'd better save some for after the match so you won't accidentally pass out. I ain't dragging your fat ass.
::Ryan looks at Brendan with a confused look on his face before holding up his muscular arm and flexing it, showing his firm muscle.::
Ryan Callaghan: Who the hell are you calling fat? I’m a freaking beast! You’re the fatty! Just like dad! And Sean! Liam is the one who takes after me!! We are RIPPED!
::Ryan lifts his hands in the air and does a muscle pose before he puts his arms down and begins to pump them up, Hulk Hogan style. Brendan just bursts out laughing as he shows off as well.::
Brendan Callaghan: You call this fat? This is pure muscle, bro! Yeeeaaaahhhh!
::As the two try to one up the other, Brendan calls out.::
Brendan Callaghan: Shit, bro. We keep this up, we can clean up tonight’s match easy! We already beat the double Kucks last time but they're gonna see us coming so we have to nail this new strategy! Stahp eating all the damn burritos, that's what they're for!!
::Ryan scoffs before letting out a sigh.::
Ryan Callaghan: Then why the fuck are we using burritos, man? How do you expect me not to eat the damn burritos? We should’ve used something boring, like cucumbers! Or some stupid vegan meal! Man, I hate meals with no meat. Where’s the meat!? Am I right or am I right?
::Brendan scrunches up his nose in quick agreement before answering the earlier question.::
Brendan Callaghan: Because bro… We already used a taco last time. If we use again tonight, they'll catch us and our plan will go to shit. And I'll be doing all this running for nothing! Pay attention, boyo! Ok pop quiz, where do we hide the burrito and where do we drop the brass knuckles after knocking out those chumps?
::Brendan taps his foot impatiently, crossing his arms.::
::Ryan’s eyes widen in surprise as he has no idea what the answer is.::
Ryan Callaghan: Uh… We hide the burrito in my mouth and then you hide the brass knuckles… IN YOUR BUTT!!
::He yells out, trying to act super confident about it while also trying not to laugh. Brendan sighs before casually strolling over to Ryan and takes the half eaten burrito from his hand.::
Brendan Callaghan: Correct.
::Then smashes the burrito right into Ryan’s face, its contents spilling down to his shirt and the floor. Brendan obnoxiously guffaws at his brother.::
Brendan Callaghan: HAHA! IN YO FACE!!!
::Brendan laughs some more at his oh so clever literal joke.::
::Ryan wipes some of the contents of the burrito off of his face and then licks it off his hand before smiling.::
Ryan Callaghan: Totally worth it!
Brendan Callaghan: Alright, alright. Clean yourself up now. Let's go get more food backstage and rest up before the show starts. And remember EVERYTHING we discussed today!
::The scene fades out as the two brothers leave the ringside.::
::Emma is backstage after her win as the camera comes up to her.::
Emma: I know all of you didn’t think I had it in me to come out here in my very first professional wrestling match and end up being the one to have my hand raised in victory. I don’t care what you all believed because I believed in myself and I don’t need anyone else to do that. The only person who matters is me and it will never be any different. Why should I care about anyone else when I’m as good as I claimed to be?
::The fans in the arena boo loudly. Emma grins and rolls her eyes.::
Emma: You guys are all the same, someone speaks bad about you and you decide to boo them. Seriously guys? You should be cheering me! I was the one who won this damn match! Nobody will remember the losers of this match, all they’ll remember is me and that’s the way I want it. All eyes should be on me when I walk into this ring and I took that spotlight tonight. I outsmarted the competition made sure I won.
::Emma grins as she stands there enjoying the spotlight being on her and only her right now.::
Emma: And now, I move on and keep on getting better and keep on believing in myself and I’ll keep on winning matches because I’m head and shoulders above everyone else in this company. I’m smarter, faster, and just out right better than everyone. And if you have a problem with that, just try and shut me up.
::Emma mimics dropping the microphone as she heads back up to her locker room still celebrating the victory tonight.::
McKena Hardy versus Alaina Laroux
It looked as though we had an entirely new McKena in the match, not waiting for Alaina to get to the ring, McKena charged her from behind before either had made their entrance and slammed Alaina into the ramp, dragging her up by her hair she swung her hard into the steel steps, with an almost primal scream as she again yanked Alaina back up and rolled her into the ring, as McKena jumped onto the apron, she yelled at the official to ring the bell and start the match, coming over the top rope to land boots first down on Aliana and then stomping into the youngest Laroux over and over.
McKena was relentless in her assault, using the ropes as leverage, she then reached down and yanked out Alaina's wrist, lining it up under the ropes, McKena lined herelf up to slam down off the ropes onto the wrist, McKena repeated the jump several more times until Alain's wrist was at a mangled, obtuse angle. McKena then resumed taking her boot to Alaina's head, not letting up for even a second; due to the sheer brutality of her actions, the official was forced to call the match and security swarmed the ring to pull the girls apart.
Winner: Alaina Laroux (Via DQ)
:: Larissa Jackson smiles as the make up crew worked on her hair. She looked into the mirror. She took a deep breath and waved off the hair crew. She spun the chair so she was looking into the camera now. ::
Larissa Jackson: In a mere few moments my theme will hit and the fans will boo and cheer me as I walk down that aisle and slide into that ring and start a match against Blair Kivisto for the Destiny Title. I have a lot of mixed emotions going into this match and I am not sure how it is going to go but I do know that I have a lot of confidence going into the match. I know Blair has the same feelings because if she didn't what would the point of being in the ring anyway?
:: She took another deep breath and closed her eyes. ::
Larissa Jackson: I could go on and on about how this is my first ever title match and all of that. I have seen Blair wrestle countless matches and I have seen her win most of them and I have seen her win a title and I have seen her defend that title. She knows what gold feels like around her waist and on her shoulder. I don't and I get that and maybe that is how she has the advantage and that is something that I will have to fight out of.
:: She gets up from the chair and she starts to walk towards the locker room. ::
Larissa Jackson: I haven't lost a match here in the Grounds and I don't want that to change now. I want to win. I want to walk down to that ring and hear that bell ring and I want to fight Blair tooth and nail and I want that title to be handed to me. This will not be easy and I never said it would be...
:: She opens the locker room door and walks in she sits on the bench and changes her shoes over into her wrestling boots. ::
Larissa Jackson: That Destiny title needs to be mine because it will show people that I did the right thing by getting into this business. I never wanted to do it, I never thought I would but now that I have stepped into that ring I wouldn't change it I couldn't. This is my time now and I know Blair will be damn good and I know that she has the advantage of being a veteran. It sucks but like I have said I need to get past that and I need to fight and I will fight. I will bring everything I have because I know that this match is the biggest one of my short career.
:: She walks back to the locker room door and she opens it, and she starts to walk out. ::
Larissa Jackson: So here we go, I hope to god that after this match I get my hand raised and a title is handed to me. Then everyone can see how good I am, they can see how I can fight with the best and beat them. Then I can smile and say I told you so.
:: She smiles once more as the door closes. ::
::The scene cuts to the backstage area where the youngest Kivistö sister happens to be looking at the options on the soda machine.::
Court Kivistö: “I hate Pepsi…”
::Speaking to herself mostly before finally pushing the button for a mountain dew. As the machine dispensed the soda, a hand reached out and grabbed it before Court was able to.::
Court Kivistö: “What the fuck!? That was…”
::She cut herself off when she saw it was her older sister who had came up and took the soda. Blair had somewhat of an amused grin on her face as she looked to her little sister.::
Blair Kivistö: “Oh no, please continue what you were going to say Court.”
Court Kivistö: “Uh… No. You can have that one.”
::The Number One Bitch shook her head and held out the soda to Court.::
Blair Kivistö: “We need to work on your backbone.”
Court Kivistö: “My backbone is just fine thank you. It's… Mostly just you.”
Blair Kivistö: “Considering you signed up for the Hardcore Invitational that I did you should really work on that. What happens if we get put against each other? You gonna lay down and let me win? Run from it like a scared little girl like the last time you were faced with me?”
::Court sighed softly as she opened her soda bottle and took a drink from it.::
Blair Kivistö: “Buying time to think about that? If I'm the thing that makes you hesitate do you know how many people can stab at that? Or take advantage of that? Hell, you're about to go into a match with someone that could use that against you…”
Court Kivistö: “Don't you think I fucking realize this, Blair? I'm working on it. Why the fuck do you think I signed up for that hardcore thing? I'm sorry that this is still a little weird for me. Last year you fucking hated me to the point of threatening my existence. It's going to take more for me to actually get comfortable around you again… Look, you're my older sister and I love you but there's still things I'm working out. Let me do that, it's a process. I got to go get ready, I'll see you after the show.”
::Before Blair could even respond her little sister walked away from her without another word. Blair shook her head and mumbled something under her breath in her home language before walking away from the scene.::
::Walking backstage, Sofie Taylor is obviously upset, pushing her way past Kelly Rosen who attempts to ask her a question, Sofie slaps the mic from her hand and storms down the hallway, her frustrations getting the better of her as she's not really looking where she's going and barrels straight into a waiting Drew McGatha, who is standing outside her locker room, as the two collide she lets out an irritated sigh and steps back as though about to look for a fight before realizing who it is.::
Sofie Taylor: Sorry babe.
::Drew quickly pulls her in for an embrace, his hand against the back of her neck.::
Drew McGatha: Hey, what's wrong? It was a tough loss but you can't let this bubble over on you.
::She growls against his chest, but relaxes into him a little, shaking her head some she lets out a sigh.::
Sofie Taylor: I looked like an idiot, I wasn't prepared for that… bitch hits harder than it looks too.
::Sofie lifts her head and angles it, he can see a bruise forming on the left side of her jaw, she pokes at it with a flinch.::
Sofie Taylor: When I said I wanted to feel again… this wasn't quite what I had in mind.
::Drew shakes his head and lightly chuckles.::
Drew McGatha: You can't say shit like that and expect me not to laugh.
::He lightly touches the bruise.::
Drew McGatha: You're tough, this won't last long.
::She smiles a little and nods, leaning back into him.::
Sofie Taylor: I think I need ice-cream! Can we get ice-cream now…?
::Drew kisses her forehead and smiles.::
Drew McGatha: Of course we can… But no sprinkles, only winners get sprinkles.
Winners Get Proving Grounds Tag Team Championship Opportunity:
The K & K Wrecking Crew (Kai "Sky" Walker & Kassi T Moore) versus The Callaghans versus Isaac Jordan & Oskar Brozovic
Isaac and Oskar quickly made use of their size advantage with K&K teaming up with them for all four to take out the Callaghans who were quick to learn the error of mouthing off when in multi man matches, with Kassi and Kai beating down Brendan and Ryan being ejected from the ring by the two brutes.
After following him to the outside, the pair were surprised by a flying Kassi who elevated herself over the top rope with a leaping frog splash, taking both men down as Ryan rolled back into the ring, appearing behind Kai who spun to meet him face on. Ryan shoulder checks Kai to the mat as Brendan pulls a taco out from his tights.
Brendan tosses the taco to Ryan who catches it, but a distraction is caused when Brendan is grabbed by the ankles and yanked from the ring, Ryan turn into a superkick to the face, via the taco in his hand from Kai, obviously the taco was loaded again as Ryan goes down hard and Kai picks up the three count.
Winners: The K & K Wrecking Crew (Kai "Sky" Walker & Kassi T Moore)
::The scene opens in the back where Javi Cruz is getting ready for his match. He is stretching out and looks ready to go.
Javi Cruz: Tonight, I'm taking on that masked moron, el Meido. I know this match was set up for me to get some revenge for his attack on Eliza, but her and I… We aren't together anymore...
::Javi lowers his head and slightly scoffs.::
Javi Cruz: But that doesn't change the fact that I want to beat on the guy or will shut up his yapping perra, Marisol. So this is a statement match for me here in Proving Grounds… I won't be someone to fuck with.
::Cruz shakes his head at the camera before walking off.::
::The camera fades in as we see the dark inner sanctum of a gym. The only illuminated light in the entire room shines down upon a large heavy bag; two figures stand directly next to it. A wild looking Merlot Ayano stands to the right of the heavy bag. Her hair is a bit unruly and unkempt, her black sports bra is drenched with sweat, and the wraps around her hands and feet have begun to unravel a bit. It appears as if she’s been hard at work for many hours. Even still, she lifts up her arms and gets into a fighting stance. Her trainer and sensei, Natsuko Aimi, stands on the other side of the bag. Her appearance is less wild, but it’s clear that she’s been putting in work as well based upon the sweat that also drips down her face.
The older woman breathes in deeply after using her forearm to wipe the sweat off of her forehead. Her eyes glance over at Merlot. The Ayano woman bounces on her toes, still maintaining her fighting stance. She is clearly ready to continue training. This causes Natsuko to smirk, just a little bit.::
Natsuko Aimi: Are you not ready to give up?
::There was a joking tone attached to the question. Merlot narrowed her eyes as she focuses in on the heavy bag.::
Merlot Ayano: Never! Must continue.
::Natsuko she shakes her head.::
Natsuko Aimi: Very well. Again!
::Merlot makes up a simple combination in her head—right jab, left jab, right elbow. She works through it a few times, getting her rhythm and timing down just right.::
Natsuko Aimi: Question, Ayano—what is the measure of one’s worth?
::Merlot’s expression remained unchanged, but the power of her strikes intensified a bit. Natsuko grabbed ahold of the bag to hold it steady and not throw her rhythm off.::
Natsuko Aimi: Does it boil down to mindless water cooler talk? Is it defined by what ill-informed bloggers say about you? Or, she is it defined by how your coworkers and peers feel about you?
Merlot Ayano: None of those is correct.
::Her response is automatic, as if she’s heard and answered the question a thousand times before.::
Merlot Ayano: Person’s worth is measured by level of character exhibited. Person’s worth is measured by how hard they work, amount of effort and ethic shown. Most important, person’s worth is defined by how one feels about self, not how others feel.
::Right jab, left jab, right elbow.::
Merlot Ayano: But, those opinions of others have their place. Can use those opinions to further your self-worth. Can use those opinions as fuel and motivation—can use to reach new heights. Is what Merlot has had to do entire career.
::The strikes continue to get even stronger. Natsuko leans her shoulder against the bag.::
Merlot Ayano: When Merlot was rookie, was discredited at every turn. Peers and other students thought Merlot would fail. Veterans that came in to train thought Merlot was crazy fool. Hell, sven Sensei Aimi no believe Merlot would amount to much; saw family name and thought would be unfocused and lazy…
::Merlot began to speed up her strikes.::
Merlot Ayano: Merlot absorbed those opinions—and Merlot looked to shatter them every time walk into gym, every time step into ring. Vowed to prove them all wrong, even vowed to prove you wrong, sensei. And here am. Proving Grounds Valor Champion. XWF World Champion. Merlot no fail! Merlot no fool! Merot anything but unfocused and lazy!
::Merlot pounds the heavy bags with one last elbow. The force of the blow causes Natsuko to nod.::
Natsuko Aimi: No you are not.
::Cut to the a shot of the Vegas skyline as drops of water begin to drip downward. The sky has been painted with vivid shades of black and purple. The picture shifts to a relatively empty sidewalk. We see two figures moving out in the distance. Once again the camera cuts and we see Merlot and Natsuko running down the sidewalk. Their strides were smooth and effortless as they progressed and made their way forward. Natsuko turns her head towards Merlot in the midst of running.::
Natsuko Aimi: Remind me again, why did you join Proving Grounds Wrestling?
::Merlot takes a moment or two to breathe before answering.::
Merlot Ayano: At the time, Proving Grounds was brand new. Merlot saw great potential in company; and, as person who has wrestled for a bit of time, Merlot thought she could be of assistance. Wanted to help company grow. Wanted to help brand grow. Wanted to help Proving Grounds soar to unimaginable heights!
::They continue to run. Minute by minute, the sky becomes darker. It doesn’t take much time before the rain really begins to pour down upon the two wrestlers. Nevertheless, they press on.::
Natsuko Aimi: And why did you fight so hard to obtain the Valor Championship? Refresh my memory please.
Merlot Ayano: Think sometimes wrestlers see belts as just belts. However, Valor Championship no just a belt to Merlot; is so much more.
::Merlot nods her head.::
Merlot Ayano: As said before, Merlot had few ups and many downs before signing with Proving Grounds. But, continued to stay uplifted. Continued to work butt off. Merlot saw the Valor Championship at shot at redemption; saw it as a chance to prove once again that people’s thoughts and opinions were wrong. Did just that when Merlot defeated Ethan and JR! People no think Merlot have a shot; thought Merlot would get demolished. But in end, Merlot prevailed!
::Natsuko then nods her head.::
Merlot Ayano: Everyone always so focused about going after Proving Grounds Championship. Is natural. However, Merlot want to put Valor Championship on same level, in sense. Want Valor Championship to be viewed in equal light, not just a second or third option. Want Valor Championship to shine bright! And is why Merlot carries herself the way she does. Is not a front. Is not a way to be superior. Just trying to uplift belt and carry out its purpose, hai.
::The camera cuts to an abandoned parking lot, lit up by street lamps. The rain is still heavy and thick. Natsuko stands a bit away and watches as Merlot completes a series of lunges while carrying large massive weighed sack over her shoulder, alternating with the weight on each shoulder with every step. Natsuko stoically looks on for a bit before she raises her voice.::
Natsuko Aimi: Tell me Ayano, how do you feel about your opponent? Speak openly. And speak truly.
::Merlot grits her teeth a bit as she steps forward and alternates the bag.::
Merlot Ayano: Lizzie Jones. Merlot think is amazing, considering amount of time wrestled. Lizzie is young in business and sport, but has good instincts and awareness. Probably can be attributed to her working around the sport in other facets. And if rumors true, Lizzie was trained by one of the best technical wrestlers in the world.
::She pauses to breathe.::
Merlot Ayano: So, hai, right now, Lizzie very good. In due time with more training and experience, can see her being super big star.
::Natsuko pulls up her hoodie so that the rain doesn’t blind her.::
Natsuko Aimi: Does she possess the power to defeat you?
::Merlot is silent for a moment.::
Merlot Ayano: ...Hai.
::Rainwater trickles down into Merlot’s eyes. She shoulders the weighed bag with her right arm and shoulder as she wipes her face with her left arm. She then continues with her lunges.::
Merlot Ayano: Is no secret that Lizzie can beat Merlot. Was proven a few weeks ago at Destiny. In fact, Lizzie is first and only person to pin Merlot in Proving Grounds. Merlot fucked up and got caught. No excuses.
::Natsuko folds her arms over her chest.::
Natsuko Aimi: Is she better than you?
Merlot Ayano: ...no
::Merlot’s voice is quiet.::
Natsuko Aimi: I didn’t catch that. Is she better than you, Merlot?
::The younger woman is still slow to answer.::
Merlot Ayano: No.
::However, her voice is louder, more confident.::
Natsuko Aimi: You are a woman who has been battered and broken. You are a woman who has been abused and shit upon. And yet, you’ve continued to fight on with all of your heart.
::The older woman pauses for second.::
Natsuko Aimi: So I ask you once again Ayano, is she better than you?
::Perhaps it is the rain, maybe the exhaustion surging through her body. Whatever the reason, Merlot screams out her answer.::
Merlot Ayano: NO!
::Finally pleased with her student’s answer, Natsuko nods her head.::
Natsuko Aimi: That is what I wanted to hear.
::The final scene of the video package appears on the screen. The two women are back in that dimly lit gymnasium once more. This time, the speck of light shines upon a ring. Katsuko stands poised with thick, curved Muay Thai kick pads wrapped around her arms. Merlot stands a feet away from her; she’s taken up another fighting stance.::
Natsuko Aimi: Middle kicks. Left leg.
Merlot Ayano: Hai!
::Merlot begins to blast the pads with consecutive middle kicks.::
Natsuko Aimi: My memory must be starting to fade. Tell me about your time as Champion of Seishin? What exactly happened after you won said belt?
::Merlot let out a small sigh.::
Merlot Ayano: Time as Champion of Seishin was joyous, but short lived. Fought through tough tournament to win title in first place. Within week of winning, promotion shutdown.
::She shakes her head as she continues striking.::
Merlot Ayano: Was very proud; am still very proud. Was first world championship. However, never got chance to defend. Breaks Merlot’s heart.
Natsuko Aimi: I see…
::Natsuko backs away a bit, forcing Merlot to stop. Both take a breather. The older woman then steps forward once more and raises her arms a bit
Natsuko Aimi: High kicks. Left leg.
Merlot Ayano: Hai!
::Merlot switches her stance slightly and begins to throw high kicks.::
Natsuko Aimi: Interesting. What about your time as the GFP Junior Champion?
::Merlot let is silent for a moment.::
Merlot Ayano: Merlot won belt. In fact, won belt about day or two after winning Championship of Seishi. However good time and vibes were also short lived.
::She shakes her head.::
Merlot Ayano: Wanted to bring honor and pride back to GFP; company had turned away from Japanese traditions. But, did not do that. Merlot no perform the way she wanted to.
Natsuko Aimi: I see. Middle kicks. Right leg.
::Those old memories bring forth frustration as Merlot switches her kicking stance. She begins to strike even harder, given her frustration and that its her dominant foot. However, her stance and form remain crisp. Her focus remains constant; Natsuko picks up on this. Merlot pounds the pads at a rapid pace::
Natsuko Aimi: You once said that the Proving Grounds Valor Championship offered redemption?
Merlot Ayano: ...Hai.
Natsuko Aimi: Do you feel fully redeemed yet?
Merlot Ayano: No.
::Natsuko steps back once more, allowing both women to breath. She then steps forward and as she lifts her arms up high.::
Natsuko Aimi: High kicks. Right leg.
::Merlot nods her head as she proceeds to kick.::
Natsuko Aimi: How will this Valor reign be different than those previous title reigns, Ayano? Tell me.
::Merlot’s strikes become more stiff after each on lands.::
Merlot Ayano: Merlot can’t and won’t make excuses. In past, always stood tall. Always tried to stay encouraged. However, Merlot no always live up to potential. Maybe was bad luck. Maybe was lack of confidence in self. However, will fight harder than Merlot has ever fought to make sure no happen again. One hundred percent effort not enough—give four thousand percent each time step in ring. And when finally relinquish belt, will have doubly exceeded potential.
::She continues kicking.::
Merlot Ayano: At Collateral Damage, Lizzie will get Merlot Ayano at maximum power level!
::Natsuko adjusts a bit to account for Merlot’s stiffness.::
Natsuko Aimi: Last question, Ayano—who shall define your legacy in professional wrestling?
::Merlot throws one last kick—a starch high roundhouse. Its force and velocity causes Natsuko to drop down to one knee. A bit surprised, she glances up at Merlot, who stares back with burning eyes.::
Merlot Ayano: Merlot Ayano shall define own destiny!
::Natsuo smirks a bit. The camera lingers on a shot of Merlot before it finally fades.::
:: The two tag titles were rested on the bench when two hands reached out from either side and grabbed a title. The camera moves and we can see Jared Bishop and Xavier Cain they both have smiles on their faces as Xavier cracks his neck. Jared puts the title around his waist and starts to speak. ::
Jared Bishop: Here we go X Baby! We get to put our titles on the line, a match that we are going to win by the way.
:: Xavier shakes his head. ::
Xavier Cain: Really Jared? So where were you when Kaleb and I kept going back and forth? You never stepped in, all you did was worry about what Andrea and I have. So are you sure you are ready for this match?
:: Jared looks at his partner and shakes his head as he steps up to him. ::
Jared Bishop: Come on X Baby! I knew you could handle Kaleb so I let you go at him. As for Andrea and you I really don't give a shit what you guys have. I was just looking out for you seeing as she hadn' done much. Whatever sorry brah.
:: Jared shakes his head as he backs off from his partner. ::
Xavier Cain: Whatever, that is the past I just want you to be ready for this match. We need to win this, don't let me down like you did with Natasha.
:: Xavier walks away quickly after that remark leaving Jared by himself. ::
Jared Bishop: Really, I guess the fool will finally see how good I am when we get this win. We are the best tag team in this company and we will go out and prove it.
:: Jared walks off as the scene fades to black. ::
Javi Cruz versus el Miedo w/Marisol Diablas
Javi and Miedo had a mostly balanced match at the start, the pair hitting one another with high flying moves and powerful strikes, the crowd going nuts for the match itself, but then Marisol intervened, pulling at the ropes a couple of times and even the ankle of Javi at one point, causing the usually more playful wrestler to see red, after dominating Miedo for several minutes he had him down for three count, but Javi was not done.
Winner: Javi Cruz
::With Miedo still down on the mat, Javi drove his knee into his opponents throat and pinned him there, wrenching his head forward and unfastening the mask, ripping it clean from his head and rolling away, Javi smirked and jumped to his feet, holding the mask up in the air before turning to throw it into the face of Marisol, who was on the apron arguing with the official to get back in the ring. Javi turns and bends down to grab Miedo by his fairly long hair, as he pulls his head back to reveal the man under the mask, he is met with a spray of mist!::
::Bright Orange mist at point blank range is spat into the eyes of Cruz who immediately falls to the mat, clawing at his face. Hiding his head behind his arm, Miedo rolls from the ring and disappears up the ramp as Lyric Night, the PGW head medic and Viv Jimenez run down to the ring to check on Javi.::
::A video package plays, showing Lizzie Jones sat outside her apartment in Las Vegas, back toward the city skyline, eyes focused on the camera::
Lizzie: So this is it, huh? Proving Grounds Emergence. This is the show where Lizzie Jones goes for her first ever title as a professional wrestler.
::She sits back and shrugs::
Lizzie: Now I’m not the type to play this off as if it’s no big deal. It is. It’s a huge step in my career, a big accomplishment to take that first taste of gold. I’ve seen my friends do it, I’ve seen my peers do it, but now it is my chance, my time do it.
::Lizzie chuckles a little::
Lizzie: And I know I can. Only a week ago I forced a world champion into having to cheat to defeat me. I kicked out of her finisher, I refused to die! The same will happen with Merlot. And whilst I respect her as a competitor, I won’t let that hinder me. I will not let that respect hold me back from reaching this milestone.
::She stands from the chair, paces a little, and then leans against the balcony wall::
Lizzie: I close my eyes and I imagine myself beating Merlot. But it’s not imagination, is it? No, it’s reality, because only two weeks ago I did just that. I pinned Merlot down - one, two, three. So for all that Merlot brings to the table, I hold the advantage. She knows...she knows I can defeat her. She has felt it. She has seen it. This week will be a repeat of that.
::Lizzie smirks::
Lizzie: Only this time I will walk away with that title over my shoulder. I will show everyone that I can be a champion, and I will show everyone what a champion should be and do.
This one will be for my fans, for the people who believed in me even when I didn’t. This is for those who helped me to where I am today, and for those who told me I couldn’t. Without all of that, I wouldn’t be here on the precipice of my first title victory.
::She turns away and looks down from her balcony, before peering back toward the camera::
Lizzie: Time to take the plunge.
::And with that she smiles and the scene cuts::
::The camera cuts to the backstage area where Kai Walker and Kassi Taylor are celebrating their win in the triple threat tag team match. Kai kisses Kassi on the cheek and can’t stop smiling.::
Kai Walker: We did it babe, we got past the Callaghans and Isaac and Oskar… Next stop is going after those tag team championships again!
::Kassi smiles a little but is obviously sore from the match, holding her side some she leans into him with a happy sigh.::
Kassi Taylor: Hopefully I stick the landing better next time though, because ouchie!
::Kai lightly laughs as he runs his fingers along her ribs.::
Kai Walker: Yeah, we will ice those ribs when we can home… And then I will crush you in Mario Kart!
::She makes a sad face at him and lets out a little whimper.::
Kassi Taylor: No fair, you always cheat!
::A little laugh escapes her and she leans into him again, kissing his cheek.::
Kassi Taylor: Despite the ouchies, I don't think I've ever been happier than I am right now!
Destiny Championship:
Blair Kivistö versus Larissa Jackson
In a decently balanced match the two women went hard for the moniker of being the first ever Destiny Champion! Larissa exerted some surprising control over the veteran in Kivisto; but eventually Blair was able to get the upperhand in the match and showing her true experience, did little to lose it. The pace of the match was quick set and definitely exciting for the fans with both contenders giving it their all before Blair finally picked up the three count.
Winner: Blair Kivisto (New Destiny Champion)
::Cutting backstage to the locker rooms Court Kivistö was sitting back on a bench, her eyes closed, music blasting through the buds in her ears. A few moments pass when a man who appears to be Cash Nixon, Court’s boyfriend, appears in the scene.::
Cash Nixon: Hey Court, can you hear me? Hello!? You’re supposed to help me introduce myself!
::Court is oblivious to Cash’s voice due to her music and he eventually sighs before yanking down on her headphones slightly, pulling them down from her ears causing her to jump slightly and look up.::
Court Kivistö: Oh hi there. I was in the zone you know.
::He laughs and shakes his head.::
Cash Nixon: Yeah? Well get in the zone of introducing me as your new tag partner!
::Cash says playfully before grinning. Court looked him up and down for a few moments before smiling.::
Court Kivistö: Right, the amazingly adorable Cash Nixon, who I'm going to happily carry through tag matches with my amazing skills.
::Court laughs before winking at Cash.::
Court Kivistö: How was that?
Cash Nixon: Perfect!
::Cash faces the camera as he lets out a laugh.::
Cash Nixon: Hello everyone, I’m Cash Nixon! Some of you might know me, the most of you probably don't and to be honest, I don't give a shit. But what do I care about? Clearly those Proving Grounds Tag Team Championships and winning them with the girl right here, the hottest and easily the best Kivistö there is.
::Cash grins as he glances over at Court.::
Court Kivistö: Winning the Tag Team Championships yes, but what came after that ignore him… I don't want Blair to kill him.
::She looks to Cash.::
Court Kivistö: We can do other things now right?
::He smiles and nods.::
Cash Nixon: We can. How about I help you get even more in the zone for tonight?
::Court blinks a few times, a smile forming as she looks to the camera.::
Court Kivistö: Time for you to go.
::Cash pushes the cameraman out of the room, causing the scene to fade on the door closing.::
::The spotlights above the ring shine bright as a ring crew begins rolling out a red carpet across the ring. A pair of hands begin lugging a pair of director’s chairs into the ring, situated with a coffee table between them. A cordless coffee pot was set up on the table, with a pair of mugs facing each other.
Alice Cooper’s "No More Mister Nice Guy" begins playing, prompting the Grounds’ fans attention shifting to the entrance area for this new, unexpected guest. Within moments, they were not left in disappointment at the arrival of the only talk show host to wear jeans and a blazer to step out onto the stage area…
“The New York Loudmouth”, Kenneth Starr himself, had arrived, LIVE on PGW’s Collateral Damage supershow! The smug talkshow host waved with his mic hand to the crowd, whom quickly began to remember some of his...investigative, hard-hitting moments.
By this point Kenneth had reached the steps, and with a slow, deliberate leisurely walk, stepped inside the ropes. He stood up on the second rope in the corner, mic raised in the air - mostly to a solid approval rating almost rivaling that of the President of the United States! The not-nearly-chiseled man smirked as he brought the mic to his lips.::
Kenneth Starr: Miss me?
::They didn’t miss him at all.::
Kenneth Starr: Yes, yes, I’m sure you’re saving the big applause for later this evening by the end of this show. Don’t want to tire yourselves out, of course…
“BOOOOOOO!!”
::The Grounds faithful were overly faithful in letting the loud talk show host how they really felt about him.::
Kenneth Starr: So, why am I, a renown hype man and former head writer for a wrestling company, here tonight live during a supershow broadcast? Well…
::Kenneth makes his way to his chair, gripping a cup of coffee as he sits down. He takes a long, slow sip, just driving the crowd crazy in anticipation of the host’s slow drip-fed announcement.::
Kenneth Starr: What? Oh, yes, my announcement and purpose for coming to The Grounds Collateral Damage supershow tonight.
::He flashed an oh-so-cocky smirk, knowing he had them hanging onto his words.::
Kenneth Starr: You see, Proving Grounds set their sights on a big, free agent acquisition, a sight that goes as far back as before the first show. The company kept it tightly wrapped though, and it’s only right NOW, live on a big supershow, that the company finally is revealing the identity of the big name - and they hired me to usher the name in! I, Kenneth Starr, the loudmouth from New York, charged with presenting to you the ‘Next Big Thing’ in Proving Grounds Wrestling. There’s just one problem.
::He pauses, taking yet another long, deliberately slow sip of the coffee.::
Kenneth Starr: Not even I know this man’s identity. Who is it? To that I say, whoever you are, come on down...let’s get the Proving Grounds first look at the ‘Next Big Thing’...
::Kenneth motions to the stage where the cameras follow suit. The fan murmuring in the arena quiets down as everyone turns their attention to the stage. The lights dim…::
::Lil Troy’s "Wanna Be A Baller" lights up the arena as a mixed reaction of surprise and curiosity washes over the crowd. It was the debut of the one and only, Mr. #MadeInJapan himself, the former Alpha Rising Champion. The Epitome of Epic himself, he appears with a mic as he heads down the aisleway, memories of his last appearances just coming back. Kenneth Starr stands mildly amused, offering a sarcastic golf clap with a nod of false approval.::
B. Epic: Yo it’s me, it’s me, it’s Bee-Ep-ic!
::Starr watches the former Champion make his way down the aisle, slapping some fan hands on his way down the ramp.::
Kenneth Starr: Ladies and gentlemen...the ‘Next Big Thing’ to Proving Grounds Wrestling…
::Once ringside B. Epic makes a standing leap from the floor to the apron, then in a single motion, he leaps over the ropes into the ring - an impressive display of athleticism to be sure! Kenneth keeps his stare fixed on his guest, his mind quickly spinning the wheels of thought.::
Kenneth Starr: B. Epic, eh? The pleasure is all mine...I don’t believe we’ve met. The name is Starr...Kenneth Starr…
::Starr extends his hand to ol B, who looks at it for a moment before gripping it tightly.::
B. Epic: Starr, huh? Ya boi will try and ‘member that.
::Mildly insulted at the idea of someone not remembering who he is, Kenneth Starr merely smirks at the handshake.::
Kenneth Starr: Please, have a seat, Mr. Epic…help yourself to the drink too.
::Starr motions to the director’s chair behind him, which B. Epic walks towards. His eyes not leaving Starr’s sight.::
B. Epic: So, this is Pro --
::Starr spins around and cuts him off rather abruptly.::
Kenneth Starr: Oh, that’s right, now I remember you. You’re the dude that popped the question to Carmen Cambridge, hero of the DARC, right? I’d say why didn’t you go to San Fran, but well...we all know how that turned out.
::Recognizing the blatant disrespect, B. Epic remains calm, he wasn’t about to give Kenneth what he was looking for.::
B. Epic: Yeah? Yeah, that’s ya boi’s girl. Makin’ ol B happy as can be. What’chu tryna say?
Kenneth Starr: Oh, just pointing something out. Did Proving Grounds Wrestling sign you, B. Epic, or did they sign “Carmen’s Boyfriend” in a power play to get Carmen signed herself?
::B. Epic looks “more than a little” uncomfortable at the bold remark.::
B. Epic: Hey. Chill with the tone when you’re hollerin at ya boi! You think ol B is offended at you callin’ him “Carmen’s Guy”? Nah, that ain’t me fam. Ol B proud of his girl’s accomplishments. Fo' sho. But this deal? Maddux and Proving Grounds Wrestling, they came at me, fo’ me. And ol B ain’t afraid to get in this ring and show you what’s what. On the real…
::Starr had clearly struck a nerve with the newest big signing to the company. Satisfied with that, he let it go. For now.::
Kenneth Starr: Fine. So tell us a little about yourself, “ol B”. We all know you were the final Alpha Rising Champion. But what else? What did you do after Alpha Rising, and why now of all times did you choose to re-emerge from your self-inflicted hiatus? What does “ol B” have to prove? What does “Carmen’s Boyfriend” have to offer Proving Grounds Wrestling, or virtually any other promotion on the face of the planet?!
::That was the question. B. Epic had been to the mountaintop once before, what more did he have to prove? Was Ken Starr right? Did ol B really have a need to prove he was his own man, and not in the shadow of his girlfriend?::
B. Epic: First of all, ya boi only left the biz after Alpha to get some work done on his knee. No mo’, no less. But now ol B is BACK! And I ain’t got a thing to prove, especially to a loudmouth snake-in-the-grass. You can miss ya boi wit alla that crazy ish tryna make ol B jealous on his girl…
::B. Epic stands up from the seat, towering over the table. He stares down at Kenneth Starr, who stands up to meet Epic’s gaze, his grin more smug than ever before.::
Kenneth Starr: For someone with nothing to prove…sure does sound like I hit a nerve…what’s the matter boy…truth hurt?
::Epic’s eyes widened, his nostrils flared in anger. In a matter of seconds, he had closed the gap between himself and the loudmouth host. His fists balled up at his sides, and his hot breath could be felt by Kenneth on his neck directly. Amid the tension, Starr sputtered out; ::
Kenneth Starr: What are you waiting for? Do it. Would that make you feel good, to punch this non-fighter in the face?
::B. Epic lifts his hands up, his tight fists now visible for all to see. He rears back, as a chant begins to break out…::
“PUNCH HIM OUT!!”
“PUNCH HIM OUT!!”
“PUNCH HIM OUT!!”
Kenneth Starr: Do it. Show the world what a coward you are. Show the world how you let your basic human emotions control you. Show the fans, and management of Proving Grounds Wrestling alike, right here LIVE on Collateral Damage...that you’re such an inept human being that you can’t even keep your feelings under control and be professional.
::B. Epic gritted his teeth, he knew he had the unique opportunity in front of him to finally be the first man to knock Kenneth Starr flat on his backside. He clenched tighter. And then took a step back, waving the New York Loudmouth off.::
B. Epic: Nah. Forget you fam. You ain’t e’en worth it. Ain’t worth messin’ up my new deal o’er yo’ loud behind. You can take yo’ show, and shove it.
::He turns his back on Starr and approaches the ropes. Kenneth waits until Epic is on the opposite side of the ropes on the ring apron before speaking up.::
Kenneth Starr: Coward. You had the shot…and you passed it up…
::Epic cocks his head to peer over his shoulder back at the loudest talk show host since Jerry Springer.::
B. Epic: Maaannnn. Fo’get yo’ dumb tail. Ol B gots bigger fish to fry.
::Epic turns back around, jumping off the apron and headed up the aisleway. His face told the tale of his real feelings. Kenneth Starr smirked before straightening his blazer and readdressing the crowd.::
Kenneth Starr: There you go folks. The ‘Next Big Thing’ of Proving Grounds Wrestling, “Carmen’s Boyfriend”. Walking away again, all he’s good at…
::Epic stops, at the top of the entrance area. He turns his head one more time, glaring down at Kenneth...then shakes his head, continuing back into the entryway.::
Kenneth Starr: Yup. Keep on walkin’, ‘Next Big Thing’ of Proving Grounds Wrestling. What a waste of space.
::Kenneth Starr shakes his head, abruptly cutting to the next moment.::
::In the backstage area, Lizzie Jones is seen pacing around nervously. She stops as she spots the camera and lets out a quick breath::
Lizzie: Hey, hey...are you guys here for my interview?
::A few mumbles can be heard from behind the camera, before the sound guy shrugs::
Lizzie: Unreal!
::She shakes her head::
Lizzie: Tell you what, here’s what we’re gonna do. Give me a microphone?
::Lizzie waits patiently as a microphone is found and handed to her::
Lizzie: Okay, let’s go in three, two...this is Lizzie Jones backstage at Proving Grounds’ Emergence, and I am joined at this time by...myself.
::She nods and waves::
Lizzie: Now, Lizzie, big title match tonight How do you feel?
::She pauses for a second before answering::
Lizzie: Nervous. But prepared. I’ve been working harder than ever at Anderson Fight Systems, and I have been studying my opponent for the past three weeks. Studying her very carefully, at that.
::She nods along to her own answer::
Lizzie: So you feel ready? Prepared?
::Again she pauses::
Lizzie: Absolutely. I’m so ready for this tonight, Liz, you don’t even know.
::She looks up to the camera::
Lizzie: Well there you have it folks, Lizzie Jones, ready and raring to get going. This was Lizzie Jones, backstage, for Proving Grounds.
::Lizzie hands the microphone over and heads off camera. At the same time, Kelly Rosen walks into view, clearly confused::
Kelly: What the hell? What just happened here? Where is she going?
::The cameraman shrugged and the scene ended with Kelly watching on, annoyed::
Proving Grounds Tag Team Championship:
Ying and Yang (Jared Bishop & Xavier Cane) © versus Scout Donnelly & Kaleb Price
Scout and Jared start the match as Xavier and Kaleb go to their corners. Jared takes quick control by putting Scout into a headlock. He throws her off the ropes and knocks her down with a shoulder block. He then runs off the ropes and nails her with a kick to the face. He goes for the pin.
Kaleb comes in and breaks the fall up. Which brings Xavier in he runs and nails Kaleb with a clothesline that sends him to the mat. The ref pushes Xavier back into his corner as Scout now takes control she nails Jared with a clothesline herself which knocks him down. Jared gets up and kicks her in the chest and nails a DDT he tags in Xavier as Scout takes in Kaleb. The two bigger guys now start trading punches back and forth. Xavier gains control as he nails a DDT.
Kaleb kicks out. Kaleb gets up now and he starts to hit Xavier with some punches which leaves him reeling. Kaleb bounces off the ropes and goes for a dropkick which Xavier ducks. Xavier now goes to the top rope and goes for his finisher “Gods Flight” but Kaleb rolls out of the way. Xavier holds his chest in pain as Kaleb gets a tag into Scout. Scout comes in and stomps Xavier. Xavier catches her foot and flips her down on to the mat as he gets a tag into Jared. Jared jumps right in as Xavier rolls to the outside now. Jared has control and he nails Scout with a vertical suplex. He goes for the pin
But she kicks out. She trades punches with him but Jared knocks her down he then picks her up and goes for his “Laid Out” He is able to nail and when he is about to go for the cover Kaleb comes in and starts yelling at him. Jared walks over to him and punches him off the mat. He starts talking trash to him as he is on the outside. He doesn’t realize that Scout is behind him. She rolls him up.
Winners: Scout Donnelly & Kaleb Price (New Proving Grounds Tag Team Champions)
::As Kaleb Price and Scout Donnelly celebrate their championship victory going up the ramp, Xavier slides into the ring and walks up to Jared shaking his head. The two start talking about the match when suddenly, free agent wrestler, Ryder Shaw slides into the ring from the crowd and levels Jared Bishop with a roaring elbow. Ryder then locks eyes with Xavier who looks shocked for a moment.::
::Fellow free agent and Ryder’s girlfriend, Korey Kingsley jumps into the ring and looks around for a moment before Ryder and Xavier embrace in a quick hug. They then pull Jared to his feet and then drop him with an aided snap swinging neckbreaker, leaving Bishop laid out. Kingsley then climbs to the top rope and nails a huge senton splash on Bishop. Kingsley pulls out a small, black towel that has ‘Pack Mentally’ on it in red letters and drapes it over the face of Jared Bishop. Xavier Cain, Ryder Shaw and Korey Kingsley then celebrate in the ring around the unconscious Bishop.::
::The feed cuts in. We are immediately introduced to a close up shot of the Valor Championship’s faceplate. The camera focused on the name “Merlot Ayano” engraved on the interchangeable plate. After lingering on the belt for a considerable about of time, the camera tilts upward a bit. Merlot stares directly into the camera’s lens. That look is still in her eyes. That look that stopped Alex Kerns in his track and had him shook. It was a crazy concoction of aggression, ambition, determination, ire, and savagery all rolled into one. The camera shakes a bit, as if Merlot’s gaze has made its holder a bit uncomfortable. However, the person remains steadfast and keep the camera fixated on her.::
Merlot Ayano: To quote king Kendrick—all Merlot life, had to fight.
::She pauses for a moment before speaking.::
Merlot Ayano: Is funny. Even though Merlot belong to great wrestling family, family didn’t really want Merlot to step into sport. Merlot’s father and mother? They wanted Merlot to go to college, get good corporate or office job, have white fence and puppy. But Merlot no want that. Would beg and plead to go see aunts, cousins, and uncles wrestle on weekends. Merlot’s heart no lay with books—laid with ring. Had to fight against parent’s wishes and expectations. Eventually, Merlot win that battle and was able to learn the basics from family and kin. Maybe say is small battle, but without battle Merlot would not be here.
::She nods.::
Merlot Ayano: Even after Merlot was taught by family, still felt like there was much to learn. So, joined Zero/FOUR Dojo. Sensei is one of biggest supporters now, but not back when first met her. Sensei thought Merlot would be lazy bum; did everything she could to make Merlot quit. However, Merlot no quit. Merlot had to fight to keep her spot; and fight had to fight to earn respect of teacher.
Then came final challenge as student. The Joshi Exit Exam was most difficult test Merlot ever had to take in life. If anything was a fight, was that. Every single minutia of knowledge Merlot had learned in time at Zero/FOUR, every nugget of information—was all asked to be shown and displayed in short twenty-minute time period. Many prospects get overwhelmed and flustered during test; many failed. And even though was nervous, Merlot held head high, fought as hard as could, and performed. Passed in one attempt.
::She pauses for a moment.::
Merlot Ayano: Would think after all that, Merlot could finally get on wrestle, could finally begin to enjoy and prosper in sport she so desired to be in—wrong. As soon as was deemed official Joshi and ready to work, real test came. Jaded and jealous veterans challenged and tested Merlot, but couldn’t break me. Peers in sport reached out hands to try and catch a bit of Merlot’s shine, but had to knock them back.
However, all that bullshit led to this…
::Merlot lightly taps on her right leg. By this point in her career, it was quite common knowledge that Merlot’s leg had been injured many, many years ago.::
Merlot Ayano: Quitting and moving on with life might have been smart thing to do. But Merlot refused! Merlot refused to have hopes and dreams snatches and stolen. So once again, had to fight. Fight to get fully healed, and then fight to get into right mindset to wrestle. And well, Merlot sit here before you now.
::Once again, Merlot goes silent. That silence for persists for a good moment or two.::
Merlot Ayano: Lizzie, no say all this things so you could have pity on Merlot. And, no say these things so you could be intimated. Say these things because they define the person Merlot is. They define the wrestler Merlot is. And define what type of champion Merlot is. No matter odds, no matter what happens, Merlot leave heart out there in ring!
As said before, you are talented Lizzie. Quick learner, hard worker, loads of charisma. Been racking up wins left and right here in Proving Grounds, even pinned Merlot. Sky is limit! How far Lizzie go will be on how far Lizzie feel like going. Will definitely be a champion in sport one day.
One day…
::She slowly shakes her head.::
Merlot Ayano: But not now. Not tonight.
::There’s a quick pause.::
Merlot Ayano: No care if you have all the momentum coming into this match. No care if the entire world believes Lizzie will win bout. Will not question own skills. Will not question own worth. Will simply walk out there and wrestle you with intensity of thousand suns for fifteen minutes!
::She nods her head once more.::
Merlot Ayano: Merlot is not Valor Champion because of cute voice and broken English inflection. Merlot is not Valor Champion because of blind and dumb luck. Merlot is Valor Champion because she crawled tooth and nail through tournament. Merlot is Valor Champion because endured attacks and beatdowns. Merlot is Valor Champion because she defeated two of best Proving Grounds had to offer…
Is time to remind everyone of that with one more fight.
::The feed cuts out.::
::Eliza sits on the examination table in the training room, her eyes locked on Lyric Night who is marking something down in a notebook, she turns back to Eliza and smiles nervously.::
Lyric Night: Okay you already passed protocols last week, so all I have to do is make sure you've healed enough to pass for tonight, let's just get this over quick and painless okay?
Eliza Valentine: Look, I'm sorry for how I acted before alright, there's a lot of pressure on me to be the best out there and anything that could stand in my way tends to get me a little antsy.
Lyric Night: No, I get it… But I'm your friend, not your enemy and I'm only here to help you.
::Eliza nods slightly and lets out a sigh.::
Eliza Valentine: My ankle is still bothering me, I can't say it's stop me fighting but… if you have a recommendation for me to get through the match on it…
Lyric Night: Alright, let's see what we can do...
::Isaac Jordan walks down the hall in the back with a smile on his face as he sees Blair Kivistö walking up with her newly won Destiny Championship.::
Isaac Jordan: Whoa! Is that the new Destiny Champion, Blair? Damn she looks sexy with ANOTHER championship!
::The smile on Blair's face grew slightly as she heard Isaac's words.::
Blair Kivistö: Pfft with or without it I'd still be pretty damn sexy but, I kind of had to win it considering I did promise you something requiring two championships.
::Isaac rubs at his chin, a grin forming on his face.::
Isaac Jordan: Yeah, I will say that I am really look forward to seeing that.
::He chuckles a bit as he touches the faceplate of the title belt, and then looking Blair in the eyes.::
Isaac Jordan: I'm really proud of you…
::She glances at the title belt before focusing back up on Isaac, moving a bit closer to him.::
Blair Kivistö: It's a bit surreal to be completely honest. Nice to know I still have it in me to go out and dominate. Makes it easier not to give up… Especially when there's a great guy waiting to tell me he's proud of me.
::He bites at his lower lip for a moment and wraps her up in his arms.::
Isaac Jordan: Let’s go celebrate this win right, yeah?
::Blair nodded her head in response to his question.::
Blair Kivistö: There better be cake.
::She smirks at him as they go walking off together.::
Lennox Daniels versus Court Kivistö
Lennox started off already in the ring, prowling up and down waiting for Court to come to the ring, but her music was met with an empty stage, causing Lennox to become visibly irritated, turning to argue with the official, she didn't see Court coming through the crowd and took an elbow to the back of the head, as soon as Court connected the bell was rung and the match begun. Court was able to keep the upper-hand for a short period of time before Lennox took control back of the match with a hard kick to th gut followed by a face buster. Lennox and Court went back and forth some more, but Court was unable to get back the pace she had set from the earlier attack.
After a lock up, Lennox came out on top and stomped Court into the mat until Court took her down with a toe hold, the pair locked up again on the mat this time, rolling over a few times as the exchange saw them both on top at one time or another before Court kicked Lennox back into the turnbuckle, Lennox then lured her in and took her down to the mat for the pin.
Winner: Lennox Daniels
::The scene cuts backstage to Aiden Morrow standing in front of a camera with a serious look on his face. He lets out a sigh and nods before he begins to speak.::
Aiden Morrow: I’m sure you’ve all heard that this is my last match here in Proving Grounds. Most people would walk out and say screw it, I’m not competing in a hardcore match with someone like Kaylee Cross; someone as vicious and dangerous as she is. But here I am, following through with my commitments.
::He pauses and sighs.::
Aiden Morrow: I want to say that I’ve enjoyed my time here. I’ve grown as a person, as a competitor and it was an honor becoming the first ever Proving Grounds Champion but it’s time for me to move on. So, I’m going to give you all one last match… I’m going to show you all, all the Proving Grounds fans, that I appreciate you. I’m going to give you my blood… My sweat… And my tears. I’m going to give it all to you tonight. I’m going to leave everything out on the table.
::He walks towards the camera and stares into it.::
Aiden Morrow: Kaylee, this is the end. Everything that’s gone on between you and me… It all ends here. You better bring the fight of your life because I’m bringing mine. See you later tonight. Let’s steal the show.
::He nods and walks away.::
::Brooklyn Zayne sits on a black painted stool in front of a ‘Brooklyn Beat’ backdrop. Sitting on the stool beside her, the Proving Grounds Championship on her shoulder, is Eliza Valentine.::
Brooklyn Zayne: Hi and welcome to the first edition of Brooklyn Beat, a bi-weekly interview feature that will spotlight a member of the Proving Grounds roster. With me this week is our champion, Eliza Valentine! Thank you for joining me Eliza.
Eliza Valentine: The pleasure is all yours, I'm sure.
Brooklyn Zayne: Last Destiny you defended your championship against two competitors who both seemed hell bent on your destruction, how are you feeling after those brutal matches?
Eliza Valentine: I feel great… I'm ready, no one, not Natasha and not anyone on the fucking roster is going to take my Championship from me! I don't care what anyone says or thinks, I earned this belt and once again tonight, I will prove that!
Brooklyn Zayne: Well, I'm not here to comment on your personal life Miss Valentine, I will say you haven't looked a hundred percent here tonight, don't you have any concerns heading into your match?
Eliza Valentine: None, I know what I am capable of. Am I a hundred percent? Maybe not but I would defend this belt with my last breath, I am a wrestler born through and through and nothing will stop me from competing tonight.
Brooklyn Zayne: Well, I have to say, I admire your determination… You have definitely fought hard to get here tonight; how does it feel to sit there holding that championship on your lap?
Eliza Valentine: Fucking incredible and not a feeling I am willing to give up any time soon.
::Eliza holds the title to her chest and taps the face plate with a smile.::
Eliza Valentine: We work our asses off for this moment, to sit here as the Champion and at the end of the day, whether people love or hate me… they can question my skill, they can call me names.. they can't take away the fact that I am the champion, I did something they haven't… I have something they want.
Brooklyn Zayne: Is the respect of your peers not something that interests you?
Eliza Valentine: It's not something I need… I come here and I do my job, then I go home, the fact is who you see in the ring and during these interviews is only a small part of me and I like to keep it that way.
Brooklyn Zayne: Some people would say you've been rather public with your personal life.
Eliza Valentine: And I would remind those people, that my social media, much like my on camera appearances, look exactly how I want them to. You have to know how to play the game and I, learned from the best.
Brooklyn Zayne: Okay, well… thank you for joining me tonight and good luck in your defense.
::Lennox walks into her locker room with a smile on her face as she spots her husband waiting for her, she jumps into his arms, locking her legs around his waist and kisses him hard with an excited yelp.::
Lennox Daniels: Well! This is the kinda surprise a girl likes to come back to!
::He holds her up in his arms and returns the kisses.::
Jacob Daniels: I wouldn’t want to be anywhere else babe, love watching you kick ass.
::She laughs a little and wriggles in his grasp with another excited noise.::
Lennox Daniels: Mini Kivisto needed squashing… I got some bad news though, we can't leave yet I still have… business to take care of.
::She pouts at him a little and bats her eyelashes.::
Lennox Daniels: Forgive me?
::He arches his brow for a moment and playfully sighs.::
Jacob Daniels: I guess so… I’m sure you’ll figure out a way to make it up to me…
::He gives her ass a firm smack with his hand.::
Lennox Daniels: Hmmm…
::Leaning in close she whispers something in his ear, following it up with a devious giggle. Turning her head she glares at the camera and shakes her head with a smirk.::
Lennox Daniels: Uh uh! This is definitely NOT going to be PG!
Valor Championship:
Merlot Ayano © versus Lizzie Jones
At the sound of the bell, both Merlot and Lizzie circle each other up, keeping their eyes locked on the others. Lizzie then quickly shoots at Merlot’s leg but is stuffed by Ayano. They both fight and battle for position with neither gaining much ground. Merlot is able to bully Lizzie into the corner where the official splits them up. As Lizzie leaves the corner they lock up with Lizzie pushing Merlot a few steps back.
Lizzie runs at Merlot and tries for a clothesline but Merlot is able to duck the clothesline. She trips Lizzie up and gets on top of her and puts her into a headlock. Lizzie fights back with some elbows but Merlot keeps the hold on and pushes her into the ropes then hits her with a shoulder block. Lizzie falls she rolls out of the ring and shakes her head. She yells at the ref but Merlot doesn’t care as she goes to the outside of the ring. Lizzie is able to get ahold of Merlot and slam her against the ring apron. She starts to kick away on the downed Merlot before rolling back in the ring. Ayano follows but is slowed down from the previous attack.
Lizzie keeps the pressure on Merlot in the ring with a series of suplexes and a big jumping knee to Merlot’s face but it isn't enough to keep her down for the win. Lizzie slowly gets frustrated and goes to drop Merlot with her "Botox Breaker" (Unprettier) but Ayano is able to wiggle free and connects with a stiff head kick that levels Jones flat. Merlot staggers on her feet as Jones slowly gets to her knees. Merlot then connects with her Eternal Burning Roundhouse and makes the cover for the win.
Winner: Merlot Ayano (Still Valor Champion)
::The cameras cut to Maddux Kingcade’s office, inside still dressed in her street clothes and sitting in the chair opposite his, with her feet pressed against the front of his desk and her arms folded, is Eliza Valentine. She lets out an exaggerated sigh and lifts her eyebrows at him.::
Eliza Valentine: That's two medics who have cleared me over two weeks, I'm fine.
::Her eyes don't quite meet his as she looks around the room and clears her throat, shaking her head a little before sighing again.::
Eliza Valentine: You don't let me compete and she gets to make up any fucking reason she wants, nobody cares that I had my head all but kicked off two weeks ago, you know as well as I do that in this industry, it's what have you done for me lately.. and I plan on being able to answer that with a toss of her ass through a table.
::Maddux lightly taps the top of his desk with his hand.::
Maddux Kingcade: Well, if you are cleared… You are cleared. The personal part of me isn’t a fan of it but the professional part is overjoyed that I still have the main event match that I was hoping for.
::She pushes up slightly and stands, leaning over the desk with a small smirk.::
Eliza Valentine: Well, the professional side of you can give me a pay rise when I smack that fucking Perra into next week…
::Her fingers dance across the desk and just stroke the back of his hand as she life's at her bottom lip.::
Eliza Valentine: And I'll make it up to the other side oh so.. very personally later…
::Her eyes flick up to meet his and she inclines her head with a cock of her brow.::
Eliza Valentine: Deal?
::A smile slowly forms on Maddux’s face.::
Maddux Kingcade: I think we have ourselves a deal….
::Backstage in the training room, Javi Cruz is lying down on the examination table, his face is dyed a bright orange color that has stained the skin and his eyes themselves are covered with medical gauze and tape in makeshift patches, standing beside him with a concerned look on her color drained face is Viv Jimenez, who holds onto his hand with a tight squeeze as she and head medic Lyric Night exchange their words in slightly hushed tones.::
Viv Jimenez: He's going to be okay though right, like this stuff it wears off after a few days?
Lyric Night: I honestly don't have much experience with this stuff it's… it's horrible…
Javi Cruz: You know, all this talking isn’t really helping me… I mean, not like a threesome could.
::Viv turns and punches him in the shoulder with an annoyed grunt, shaking her head she tries to hide the smile forming on her lips from her voice.::
Viv Jimenez: Que malo, there's nothing wrong with your mouth obviously!
Javi Cruz: My mouth no, but now I only have one working arm thanks to that punch.
::Javi lightly chuckles.::
Javi Cruz: Hopefully that asshat knows I am still coming for him. Bitch ass move with the mist.
::Viv sighs and turns back to Lyric, concern still edging her voice.::
Viv Jimenez: Don't worry about that right now Javi… Is there anything he needs to do aside from keep those patches on for the next day or so?
::Lyric looks him over again and half shrugs.::
Lyric Night: If his eyes start to sting or hurt in general, get them looked at again but otherwise it's just a waiting game, as far as I know the stuff doesn't do any real lasting damage…
Javi Cruz: Speaking of the waiting game… Where are we with that threesome idea you guys were talking about?
::Viv punches him again as Lyric laughs and rolls her eyes, turning her back to them both as Viv relents and leans in for a kiss on the blinded Javi, muttering against his lips.::
Viv Jimenez: Pendejo.
::Xavier Cain is cutting through the back, fully changed and carrying his bags. The PGW camera crew come running up with Alex Kerns on the microphone.::
Alex Kerns: Xavier! Xavier! Can I get a word!
::Xavier continues to ignore Alex and the camera as he walks up to a car with Ryder Shaw and Korey Kingsley already inside. Xavier tosses his bags in the trunk of the car.::
Alex Kerns: Xavier! Why did you turn on Jared Bishop and leave him beaten in the ring?
::Xavier gets into the car and the trio quickly drive off leaving Alex with unanswered questions.::
Hardcore Rules:
Kaylee Cross versus Aiden Morrow
The hardcore match start off in the ring between Aiden and Kaylee as they charge each other before the bell even rang. The two went back and forth, showing that they are evenly matched until Aiden began to gain momentum. He soon hit Kaylee with a superkick, sending her flying to the outside of the ring. Aiden waits inside the ring, yeling for Kaylee to get up but when she does, she moved into the crowd and Aiden would soon follow. Kaylee continued to move forward, parting the fans as she ran toward the back. Aiden tries his best to keep up with Kaylee, chasing her backstage to look for her but when he makes it to the back, Kaylee comes out of nowhere and nails Aiden with a steel chair directly to his head, dropping him down. The crowd throughout the arena boos as Kaylee delivered blow after blow onto Aiden’s back until the chair bent in half and was no longer useful. Kaylee tosses the chair aside before she rolled Aiden over and pinned him. She picked up a two count before Aiden kicked out. Kaylee attempted to pick Aiden up but he drops her with DDT on the concrete floor backstage.
The two lie there for a few moments before Aiden gets up and picks Kaylee up, Aiden led the pair back to the entrance way, delivering elbows into her gut whenever she tried to counter with anything. Kaylee then delivers a knee to Aiden’s gut and she tries to push him into the ring post but Aiden blocks it with his foot before ramming Kaylee head first into the post, causing her to fall motionless to the ground on the outside for a moment. Kaylee soon struggled up, a clear cut across her forehead. Aiden grabbed her and tried to take her down with a headlock driver but Kaylee shoves him off. Kaylee DDT’d Aiden before she got up and then dropped a harsh elbow and then getting on top of Aiden, pounding left and rights down onto his face as Morrow tried to cover and block. The referee stepped in but wasn’t able to do much since this is a harcore match.
Kaylee eventually got to her feet and pulled a chair from beneath the ring. She sat Aiden up and wedged the chair around Aiden's neck. Kaylee pulled Aiden up fully and looked to slam the chair into the ring apron, but Aiden managed to use his elbows to stop the attempt at crushing his neck. As Kaylee reeled, Aiden pulled the chair from around her neck and folded it shut, slamming it into Kaylee's forehead, knocking her to the ground again. Aiden leans up against the apron for a moment, doing his best to catch his own breathe before he picked up Kaylee and rolled her back into the ring. Aiden slid in and he goes to pick up Kaylee but she is playing possum and she looks him into the Sign of the Cross (Cross Armbreaker). Aiden is locked into the hold for awhile and he struggles to get out but fails to do so. Eventually he grabs the rope but due to the hardcore rules, there are no rope breaks. Aiden then slides out of the ring and it causes Kaylee to break the hold.
Aiden bends down and holds his arm in pain. Kaylee wastes no time before she springs off of the ropes and then suicide dives through the ropes, taking Aiden down. Kaylee then clears the announce table and throws Aiden on it before she gets in the ring and climbs up it. Kaylee then leaps off, going for Last Rites, which is the Red Arrow, but Aiden slides off of the table and Kaylee goes through it by herself. Aiden takes a moment to gather himself before he gets up and picks up the incapacitated Kaylee and throws her into the ring. Aiden picks Kaylee up and nails her with the No Fly Zone, which is a double underhook piledriver. Aiden pins her but only gets a two count which amazes the fans and Aiden as well. Aiden decides to climb up the top ropes and he leaps off, nailing Kaylee with the Blyzzard (shooting star press) but he doesn’t go for the pin. Instead he picks her up and nails one more No Fly Zone, making sure to completely take her out. He pins her and gets the three count and Aiden is declared the winner.
Winner: Aiden Morrow
::The scene cuts backstage to two men wearing colorful gear in front of a camera. One of them has a beard, the other clean shaven and they both have long hair that’s tied in ponytails and they are also wearing bandanas on their foreheads. The younger looking one with facial hair begins to speak.::
Younger Man: I bet you’re all wondering just who in the hell we are. Let’s put it this way first, we’re wrestlers, obviously, and we’re brothers. I’m Noah and this guy right here? He’s Ethan. That’s right! Ethan and Noah Quick!
::Ethan nods before chiming in himself.::
Ethan Quick: That’s right! And we’re the Gym Class Bros!
::Noah looks at him with a confused look.::
Noah Quick: Gym Class Bros? I thought we agreed on Gym Class Heroes!?
::Ethan’s eyes widen and he grimaces.::
Ethan Quick: Oh Shit! You’re right! That one is my bad! Let me redo this.
::Ethan clears his throat.::
Ethan Quick: We are the Gym Class Heroes! You know, like the band!
Noah Quick: But we’re not the band.
Ethan Quick: But I play a pretty mean air guitar!
::Ethan starts to play an air guitar as he makes goofy guitar sounds.::
Noah Quick: That was a sweet solo bro, but lets save those sweet sounds for later and give these good folks at Proving Ground some more background on us and why we’re here.
::Ethan nods.::
Ethan Quick: Well, first of all, we trained at Anderson Fights for a couple of years! We’re a part of the best crew ever!
Noah Quick: Damn right! Josh Anderson, Zooey, Ally, Tyson, Julian and so many other awesome people that we trained with and learned from! And now we’ve been given the blessing to start our career! So why are we here in Proving Grounds? To become the Tag Team Champions of course!
::The two brothers high five as Ethan continues on Noah’s point.::
Ethan Quick: And the reason we’re going to be the team to beat in Proving Grounds isn’t just because Noah and I have trained together and know each other’s every moves, but because we’re brothers and there isn’t a bond you can’t get closer to that.
Noah Quick: Hell yeah! So all the tag teams competing tonight? We’ve got our eyes on you and we’re going to prove that we’re the heroes that Proving Grounds needs. Even if it’s the heroes that it does not want!
Ethan Quick: Exactly! The Gym Class Bros!
::Noah rolls his eyes and scoffs.::
Noah Quick: NO! Gym Class HEROES! Not bros! Even though it makes sense.
::Ethan snaps his fingers.::
Ethan Quick: Damn it. I’ll figure it out eventually.
::The scene then cuts away.::
::Eliza is standing in the hallway just before her match, starring herself down in the mirror she lets out a sigh and locks eyes with her reflection.::
Eliza Valentine: Okay Eliza Jane, this is it - if you fuck this up, you won't have any excuses, we know who we are… what we are capable of and it's time the rest of this roster showed us the respect we fucking deserve.
::Her gaze hardens as she continues to stare at herself.::
Eliza Valentine: Forget Ana, forget Maddux, tonight you're doing this for yourself and nobody else. Go out there and kick ass like only Eliza Valentine can… love you or hate you, after tonight, every single one of them, will remember your name.
::Eliza nods to herself, a self satisfied smile spreading across her face as she turns away from the mirror and heads towards the ring area, slapping herself on both arms as she goes, still muttering to herself the whole time.::
Eliza Valentine: I got this, it's all me… I can do this… No more second chances, this is it, it's go time Eliza.. you fucking got this!
::Kaleb is carrying his bag and proudly has his half of the Proving Grounds Tag Team Championship titles in hand as he makes his way to the waiting car where his girlfriend and tag team partner, Scout Donnelly, is waiting with her half of the tag team championships around her waist.::
Kaleb Price: That championship looks amazing on you babe!
::Just then Alex Kerns comes up to them with a camera crew.::
Alex Kerns: Just a quick word from the new Proving Grounds Tag Team Champions?
Kaleb Price: Sure thing man, we are about to go out and celebrate but we don’t mind speaking our minds some.
::Kaleb tosses his bag in the back of the car as Scout comes up next to him.::
Alex Kerns: How does it feel to be champions here in Proving Grounds?
Scout Donnelly: It feels amazing, Kaleb and I have been working hard! Pushing ourselves to be better and better and tonight all of that work has paid off and I know I've done my mentor proud… that's the most amazing feeling, looking out into the crowd and seeing Josh so proud of me; he's done so much, to be able to do this and have him there to see it, makes the victory all the sweeter.
Kaleb Price: Yeah it's the cherry on top of the sundae for us. It really shows that hard work and focus can lead you to great things.
Alex Kerns: And what do you guys think about the new number one contenders for your tag team titles, the K & K Wrecking Crew?
::Kaleb lightly nods his head.::
Kaleb Price: Well, obviously Kai and Kassi are a great team and will be tough in any match, let alone a championship one. We look forward to facing them… Almost as much as we are looking forward to celebrating this win tonight.
Scout Donnelly: Kassi and Kai are no slouches and I am sure they will be great contenders, but we didn't get here to fall at the first hurdle… But as Kaleb said; tonight is about celebrating this win - and I'm the luckiest girl in the world because I get to share this with the love of my life!
Alex Kerns: Okay, thank you guys… Have a great night celebrating the win.
Proving Grounds Championship:
Tables Match:
Eliza Valentine © versus Natasha
Tables are set up around the ring as Natasha waits inside it, Eliza makes her entrance, slowly walking down the ramp with a smirk on her face as she runs her hand over the championship belt, she tries to strut and hide her obvious limp as she moves, distracting everyone from her less than perfect state by taunting the crowd, pulling the belt from around her waist she waves it at the fans as she passes them before finally reaching the ring. Once she has reached the steps, she slowly climbs them and slips under the top rope, holding the belt in the air before handing it off to the official.
Before Natasha knows what's coming, Eliza charges her and slams her down to the mat, getting on top of her opponent Eliza rains down hard lefts and rights, knowing her best bet is to stay off her injured ankle as much as possible. Natasha gets a hard hit to Eliza’s head, which physically stuns her and she appears to waver slightly, just enough for Natasha to push her off and get to her feet.
Eliza takes Natasha’s legs out from under her though and again climbs atop her, thrusting her knee into the throat of Natasha and pinning her to the mat, she starts to open hand strike her across the face with loud slaps, when the official cautions her, Natasha uses the moment to again throw Eliza off, but this time she tries to roll to the outside.
At the last moment, Eliza catches her and both of them begin to trade blows. Natasha kicks at Eliza's injured ankle and she goes to her knee, but Eliza is quick to bring her shoulder up into the gut of Natasha and regain the upper hand, setting Natasha up on the turnbuckle and climbing it herself, as she goes to powerbomb Natasha through the table, her footing falters and both women go crashing through the table on the outside.
The official calls for the bell, but before the match can officially end Maddux’s music begins to play and he steps out onto the stage, mic in hand, shaking his head.
Maddux Kingcade: Woah woah woah… This match cannot end in a draw, not with how much these two have been going at each other this whole time. Restart the match and don't ring that bell again until we have definitive, Proving Grounds Champion!
As Maddux talks, Eliza rolls from the wreckage, she looks up the ramp at Kingcade and shakes her head in disbelief, yelling something at him and signaling to Natasha who is still lying in the table pieces, but Maddux shakes his head and points at the table, then Natasha and then her, slapping her hands down on the floor with a frustrated yell, Eliza somehow pulls herself up.
Rounding on Natasha she pulls the contender up by her hair and with a last moment of pure adrenaline Eliza manages to nail Natasha with the Mysterious Girl into the ring steps before pushing her off them through the waiting table. For a second time, the bell is rung and the official calls the match.
Winner: Eliza Valentine (Still Proving Grounds Champion)
::Eliza slowly gets to her feet, as the official hands her the Championship belt, she turns to look up the ramp at Maddux, who is still standing there after his announcement, she goes as though to blow a kiss to him. His expression suddenly changes and before he can warn her Eliza is slammed face first into the floor.::
::The fans go crazy as Gavin Grimes stands behind Eliza, he mockingly winks up at Maddux before rounding on the shocked Eliza, who is just pulling up off the floor and reaching for her dropped championship belt.::
::Pulling her up he swings her into the security barrier with a hard smack, then grabbing her by the hair and setting her up, he takes her down onto the steel ramp with the crowning, standing over her unconscious body he picks up the title and thrusts it into the air, staring down Maddux Kingcade as the scene fades out to the Collateral Damage logo.::
